And so the day has come when I must sell my boat. It's a 13ft 9inch Hobie Cat "Turbo". That means it has a roller-furling jib sail. The picture shows it without the Jib sail, but I've since gotten a nice new white one. I sailed it a few weeks ago at the beach. It doesn't leak. It's fast. It's ready to go. There is no title or registration for the boat. NC doesn't require one for sailboats under 14ft. The trailer, however, does require a license plate. I don't have one. The trailer works just fine, it's not in the best shape, and I think the brake lights are a little finicky, but it'll work. I towed the boat from Asheville to Raleigh, then to the beach, without problems. The mainsail is in fair condition. I also have an extra mast. Most of the lines are new. All blocks are genuine HARKEN gear. I also have a trapeze setup that comes with the boat. you can email me at skdrewry@gmail.com, or post here, or send a PM. My price is $450

Hey will you trade for two black and white cats http://www.brentroad.com/message_topic.aspx?topic=498598 j/k but seriously if I can figure out a way to tow it I might make an offer nice lookin boat. would you give a lesson on it for who ever bought it?

Sweet boat. I want to learn to sail. How wet of a ride is it? Would it be feasible for me (a noob) to learn to sail it in the winter while my ski boat is winterized or would that be asking for trouble?

on a nice day, no, on a windy day, yes.

A hobie cat isn't really fun to learn on if you're new to sailing altogether. Monohull boats are far far easier to learn the fundamentals on. As for the ride, wet and wild! Especially with 2 people on there....the boat sits a little lower in the water and in the right weather, the guy in front gets a garden-hose-to-the-face type of splash.I should also mention that the boat is in Nag's Head, NC at the moment. If you need it towed somewhere, I can do that. I live in Raleigh.

do you know the year?boat is in raleigh?

I'm not sure of the year, but for some reason I want to say it's a 1970's boat. Or maybe early 80's. The boat is in Nag's Head, NC...but I'm in raleigh, so I have to go get it anyway.

Ok well I guess I can find out when I go to the beach, where the boat is. Maybe I can do that next week, I'm pretty busy this weekend.
