i put up some fliers and talked to my neighbors. the old man on the corner likes to shoot birds/squirrels/rabbits with his bb gun (that i knew), but apparently he traps them and shoots them while in the trap (according to the neighbor who lives b/w us). she's convinced that he killed their cat.

i will be watching that bastard now. if i see a trap or a gun or anything at all i will call the police faster than you can blink.

my realtor lives a couple blocks from me so i called her, since she does nothing but ride around all day anyway. she's gonna keep an eye out.

all of my family (immediate and extended), minus one aunt and uncle, are here too. family is important to me. real estate is also really cheap, although i plan on moving out of city limits in the next few years (i want lots of land and trees).

anyway, monkey is now an indoor only cat. my other cat, zoe, has always been an indoor cat. i don't want that crazy old man murdering my animals.

it's been over a week now. i have an ad running in the paper here starting today. i've had 2 neighbors call thinking they'd found her, but it was just this other cat that's black and white and has a similar pattern. thankfully i saw that cat out walking one night so i wasn't surprised to see it again.

thurman killed her and other cats in the neighborhood. the cops and animal control and code enforcement have all been by his house and they removed several carcasses. my neighbors and i are in the middle of what might turn out to be a lawsuit/charges of some kind now.

the old man has an animal abuse record apparently. a sgt in charge of this area whom i've come to know well lately is all over it thankfully.
