Mo 'Nique did a comedy thing in a women's prison, and randomly picked a woman from the inmate audience to come up on stage and sing. She sang "he walks beside me" a capella with such feeling that i started crying. it was heart wrenching to put myself in that woman's shoes, to be in prison as a musician, and being allowed the opportunity to briefly transend everything and just...spread joy without pretense, without expectations, or reservations. I only hope to be able to have a fraction of that woman's heart, especially in such adverse circumstances.
