I was just in New England and everybody really does talk like that it was weird, like a parody of itself or something
3/30/2008 5:38:16 PM
actually, Britta, our English is closer to British Englishthat parht of the country has been inhabited for ahlmost fowah hundred years
3/30/2008 5:39:27 PM
I mean, it was like being inside an SNL skit or something. the accents were as ridiculously exaggerated as if you were trying to make fun of it
3/30/2008 5:41:46 PM
well, how do you think it is for me when I hear your accents down here?
3/30/2008 5:42:52 PM
3/30/2008 5:43:54 PM
from downtown....YES! THE WHITE LOBSTER!IS COOKING!
3/30/2008 5:46:59 PM
the white lobster (if that is his real name) is lighting it up
3/30/2008 5:47:01 PM
that's what was weird, in Raleigh most people don't even have a southern accent (I guess on account of half the population being being ex yankees) but up there approximately 100% of people have a New England accent. I've never been up there before so it was very noticeable. Everyone kept saying, "How do you like New Hampshuh?" "How do you like the shipyahd?" And chembob you don't talk like that anyway!
3/30/2008 5:47:23 PM
hahahahI was wondering if I heard that rightnow I know that I'm not the only one
3/30/2008 5:49:18 PM
of course i don't talk like that much anymore - i'm not around my people.
3/30/2008 5:50:08 PM
you people
3/30/2008 5:50:52 PM
but here's an actual albino lobster
3/30/2008 5:53:10 PM
I know a Maniac who would always say, "I'm on it like a hornet"it only rhymes if you're from Maine
3/30/2008 5:54:27 PM
i love Maine phrases, like:"can't get there from here""i'm tellin' you""ah-yuh"
3/30/2008 5:56:18 PM
ahh yes the infamous "ahyuh," the Maine sound of agreementI always read it in Stephen King books but had no idea what it sounded like till I met this dude from Maine
3/30/2008 5:58:22 PM
it's a sound we make when we breath out.
3/30/2008 6:02:09 PM
