haha for real...especially if you are in all the same classes and they got just as much bs to do as u do...

Have one due in a day and a half. So far have contributed the lion's share and looks like I'll be pulling a repeat on this portion of the project. Finals time here we come
5/1/2008 1:14:57 AM
^yeah, thats me, doing all the work and everyone else has their thumb up their lazyi thinking of ditching them and telling the professor
5/1/2008 1:16:22 AM
there is no good group project. Im in one where I'd love to do my share and more and 2 other guys took over and wont let anyone do much of anything
5/1/2008 1:17:22 AM
After a lifetime of doing ALL the work (like a sucker) in every group project, last semester I was the asshole that let everybody else get me an A. It felt pretty good.
5/1/2008 1:27:15 AM
i noticed if you take the slackers lead, you always get a decent grade...for example...you could get all worried, or you could be like the slacker and be more happy...then when it gets closer the slacker figures out a way to get a b or an a and you dont have to do all the work
5/1/2008 1:31:31 AM
i've never been the a-hole that let other people get me an A (i don't trust other people enough for that) but i HAVE attempted to put in a lot of effort and give good ideas, only to be shot down by others in my group grrr. but usually i'm the one that just does the whole project myself (again, not so good with the trusting others w/ my grade).i just had a group paper in LAW SCHOOL. law school. well it was a paper with a partner but we had to each write a 15 page setion of the paper and then approx 10 pages in "common parts." so we wrote the common parts together, but they were really shitty so i re-wrote them all myself. luckily my partner wasn't offended. and luckily we get graded separately on our individual parts.
5/1/2008 1:33:11 AM
what if you don't do as good of work as you think you do?
5/1/2008 1:36:17 AM
i'm typically the best writer in my groups
5/1/2008 1:36:44 AM
i don't doubt it.
5/1/2008 1:37:56 AM
my gc group project which lasted more than half the semester was awesome.

well i make better grades in the class so i was assuming that something i wrote would probably be better than what he dictated to me when we were working together on it. i mean if it sucks its totally on me, but i just don't think it could be worse than what it was. that is my point i guess.oh and he wasn't offended. i asked him. i mean i think the one reason he asked me to be his partner was because i make better grades so i kinda knew i was being used---i didn't really care who i offended.[Edited on May 1, 2008 at 1:48 AM. any of you thus far engineers? you should all fail for the simple point of missing what a group project is supposed to be about.

HATE THEM

the key is to get into a group with an anal retentive nerd who will do all the work for you
5/1/2008 2:18:14 AM
I've only had one group project in college where I felt everyone did their fair share. Why do professors bother assigning those bastards
5/1/2008 6:55:57 AM
better get used to themaren't a lot of jobs where you dont work with people
5/1/2008 6:57:23 AM
Yeah, but in the workplace your ass can get fired if you're not pulling your weight. You can't fire your classmates.Group projects are one thing I definitely don't miss from college.
5/1/2008 7:02:38 AM
And in the workplace, you often have similar schedules to your group mates. Some students have class, work, kids--it's a bitch to schedule.
5/1/2008 7:08:08 AM
yea most of the trouble i've had with group work is trying to find a time when everyone can actually work on it. projects that can be divided up easily for solo work on the best kind of group projects.

^ nice We tried to get a guy kicked out of a project once but the professor could have cared less. Lucky for us the guy didn't even bother showing up the day of the presentation so he ended up failing it anyway.
5/1/2008 8:28:27 AM
I had 8 group projects my last semester at State!!!! And since I'm the one that's anal and usually ends up doing all the work, I was about bat shit crazy come May!!! It was wild![Edited on May 1, 2008 at 8:31 AM. Reason : And I love how a girl in my group ended up using MY "Couture for a Cure" idea and using it at NCSU]
5/1/2008 8:31:00 AM
Ugh. That's happened to me before - telling me my ideas aren't what the group wants, and then someone incorporates it themselves at the last second (and not the way it was supposed to be incorporated, I might add, I had a better understanding of it from the start). My idea of how to present it would have been more interesting as well, and we lost points for that (yup, points for presentation alone).[Edited on May 1, 2008 at 8:40 AM. Reason : .]

One of the ladies working with me on a group last year was a mom and also had a job, so after she did a minute amount of work, I took it from there without complaints. She was literally coming to class every day with holes under her eyes, and she'd been late several times trying to find a baby sitter, etc. I ended up writing the paper myself but again, didn't complain - I'd rather have it my way because the other two weren't as into writing as I was as a history major.
