Based on sheer numbers alone, being that there are probably triple the amount of white people in America than there are blacks, it is quite natural to find an overwhelming number of well-spoken white people when compared to black people. Doesn't mean they are any better or smarter, just historically speaking, it quite obvious that there should be more well-spoken white people.

I think the idea is that when a white person refers to an african american as articulate there is an unspoken qualifier involved. That Condoleezza Rice sure is well spoken "...for a black person"

so anyways...the main reason i made this thread is cause edwards was on live...he said he voted, and would most likely endorse who he voted for(which i cant figure out why he wouldnt do that anyways...)...at one point he slipped and said "well i just voted for him 2 days ago" and then someone said "him or her" and he wouldnt say, but i think he voted obama

you would think that after 6 years of taking English classes in elementary school + 3 years of taking English classes in middle school + 4 years of taking English classes in high school + (?) years of taking English classes in college he'd at least be able to speak the damn language.
