Is there any difference in brightness or other performance between 4-cell, 5-cell, and 6-cell maglites? I know the bigger ones are better weapons, but what other difference is there?

6/22/2008 12:02:50 PM
great chit chat thread, i love talking about flashlights
6/22/2008 12:05:33 PM
get a surefire instead, much brighter, better flashlight
6/22/2008 12:09:35 PM
i don't know the difference, but the bigger ones make better weapons.
6/22/2008 12:14:04 PM
who in the fuck really needs a 6-cell Maglite? for what purpose are those extra cells actually going to be an advantage unless you absolutely plan on using your flashlight as a bow staff?if anything i feel like the extra cells are a disadvantage cause of how big and heavy the light will be.
6/22/2008 12:16:51 PM
the 4,5, and 6 cell all use the same bulbthe batteries are connected in series so, more batteries = more voltage = more lumens
6/22/2008 12:17:38 PM
...it also means the bulb will probably burn out much faster.
6/22/2008 12:24:49 PM
^^^you're obviously not from the country and maybe NC and maybe the south. if you were, you would know the purpose of a 6-d maglite
6/22/2008 12:27:10 PM
you're obviously one of those idiots who likes to drive around in a big truck even though it's not economically viable and you don't need a truck.
6/22/2008 12:29:40 PM
The guy with the biggest flash light at an emergency is in charge. Take it as you will.
6/22/2008 12:29:45 PM
^^you're obviously a fucking retard. I don't drive a big truck, I drive a small truck. And yes, I use it for it's truck capabilities. not everyday, but often enough to have a truck. so why don't you stfu and quit making stupid assumptions.^is right. [Edited on June 22, 2008 at 12:32 PM. Reason : .]
6/22/2008 12:31:43 PM
the ASSumptions started on your end bro....now why don't you go get in your Chevy S-10 and go drag racing or something.
6/22/2008 12:33:52 PM
you must have a 2-cell flashlight[Edited on June 22, 2008 at 12:35 PM. Reason : wtf is a 2-cell battery]
6/22/2008 12:35:42 PM
yes, but my assumptions had some validity behind them, while your's were just a stupid, needless personal attack. and I don't drive an s-10 and drag racing is gay, so try again fucktard.
6/22/2008 12:36:10 PM
how did you validate your assumptions about me? I was right that you drive a truck and that you use your big flashlight to make up for the lack of flashlight in your pants.
6/22/2008 12:37:46 PM
Man, there's a lot of hate in here.My Maglite is a 4-cell, it works well, is plenty bright for every purpose I've found except using it as a lightsaber, and it lasts fairly well. It even works okay as a hammer.
6/22/2008 12:38:36 PM
hahaha, wtf are you on hippy. why don't you get off the internet already, your computer is killing trees in brazil.
6/22/2008 12:39:24 PM
BECAUSE MOST PEOPLE FROM THE SOUTH KNOW WHAT A 6-D MAGLITE IS FOR.goddamn are you that retarded?and no, it has nothing to do with your fag fantasies. I'm done here, I can't stand the stupidity
6/22/2008 12:39:58 PM
my point is that the MAJORITY of people don't need a HUGE flashlight...unless they plan on using it as a weapon.say you are camping, hiking, walking, using it around the house....a gigantic Maglite is gonna hold you back/weigh you down.[Edited on June 22, 2008 at 12:41 PM. Reason : wm]

6/22/2008 12:45:42 PM
^would the same rule not apply?
6/22/2008 2:16:14 PM
well, if one person has a chainsaw and another has a big flashlight i'd bet the guy with the flashlight
6/22/2008 2:20:06 PM
good point, you should make a wiki entry explaining the rules
6/22/2008 2:26:57 PM
I'd have to say that even though the Surefires and nice, they're like a bazillion dollars. For the money I'd take a 5 or 6 cell mag with the LED kit any day of the week.
6/22/2008 4:20:58 PM
i love my led lenser flashlight, SO FUCKIN BRIGHT
6/22/2008 4:25:15 PM
lemme check, its DEFINITELY a cop light though (thanks asshole at bojangles)4 D cellsso actually this flashlight has broken more teeth than had batteries replacedand thats the truth
6/22/2008 4:31:29 PM
Don't buy a flashlight that takes an odd number of batteries. You ever seen a 5 pack of Duracell batteries? That's reason enough to go with the 4 cell or the 6 cell.
6/22/2008 6:09:44 PM
i thought like prime would be the problem, ive seen 30 packs!!1
6/22/2008 6:11:05 PM
^^ never seen a 5 packbut i have seen 10 packs^ 5 is a prime number

6/22/2008 6:21:08 PM
I have (2) of the small 2-AA cell LED Maglites -- they work great. Not quite as bright as my 3w LED backup lights, or my Halcyon 18w 13.5ah HID though.
6/22/2008 6:30:41 PM
a wanna be cop that hates cops
6/22/2008 6:53:02 PM
fits in your pocket, outshines every maglite they make
6/22/2008 9:24:32 PM

6/22/2008 9:25:32 PM

6/22/2008 9:42:04 PM

6/22/2008 9:43:09 PM
cell phone camera flash and i usually carry my old ass 2 AA minimag as a backup. i put the LED conversion thing in it and it's not that bad.
6/22/2008 10:07:24 PM

6/22/2008 10:10:00 PM
