This actually happened, well sort of, and it's the reason my dad quit smoking.

I was very young, maybe four or five, and I saw my dad smoking and said something to the effect of, "That looks really cool; I want to do that when I get older."

My dad flushed his cigarettes right then and hasn't touched them since. Cold turkey.
