I think my record in the field was about three weeks without a hot shower--just whore baths from the water buffalo and any hot water I could talk the cooks out of from the MKT. When your legs start to stick together--and I mean really stick together--it's a very nasty feeling.

On the positive side, though I can't prove this, the mosquitoes don't seem to bother you nearly as much when you don't smell so clean and sweet.

yeah, i've never gone that long. I've done a week numerous times, but no longer than that.

I hope I never have to go for another week without eating, though. That's no way to live, dude.

especially when you also end up with pneumonia, but don't tell anyone because you will be damned if you're gonna get medically dropped from the training and have to do it over again

let me tell you, being on the business end of "enhanced interrogation" when you have pneumonia and have been starved for a week is not a good time. that is hands down the most miserable thing I've ever done. I also lost 17 pounds in one week.



(they finally figured out how fucked up i was by the last day when my vision went black and I fell down...they pulled me aside and gave me some Vitamin M, a Slim Jim, and 2 bags of saline through an IV--with a corpsman squeezing the bags to make them flow faster...haha.

then back to the training, haha)
