Today is the first meeting of our "Green Team" at work. What are some suggestions you would have for greening up a business? I myself am going to push a 4 day work week...even though I know that won't happen.

Man...I worked at a bar that "went green." Started off being a pain in the ass...but I eventually got use to it.Every product we used was either biodegradable or could be used over and over again. Got all of those special lightbulbs. Went "paperless" except for our food and drink menus (sent all the reports via email, etc.). Recycled everything.

Tell everyone to hold their breath for an hour per day to reduce their carbon footprint.Hope the environmentalists die in the process.

- 4 day work week- Motion sensor lights (where they'd make sense)- Better insulation- Use reusable coffee mugs instead of disposable (same for water cups)- efficient lighting- recycle paper (and cans and bottles)- use typewriters instead of computers to save energy

I just started a 4 day work week this week.(Friday is a holiday, so I get Thursday off as well!!) So far its been pretty good. I don't have a good feel for the traffic flow yet, because I feel like it is an "off week" with a lot of people being on vacations and such. There is rumor that it may be manditory county wide at some point.

no problem. I hope they are doing well. I no longer work in that area, but I've always enjoyed their food. Good food quality too, most of their stuff is made from scratch (even their desserts) And they seemed to be nice people (if it is the same people that were there a year ago)

The Prime Rib sandwich was a great deal for the price. Casear salad wasnt too shabby either.

Sometimes I feel like the Green Revolution is the most hypocritical policy, reducing energy efficiency to mere competitive advantage, rather than something that is morally right and should have been done for years. But congrats on finding a progressive company!

My favorite was the fettuccini alfredo. It was really good. Definitely not low fat though. I always forget about that place because it seems to be a little bit off the beaten path.

If you go for the CFL's, you need to press for responsible and proper disposal of the bulbs. That's the bigger enemy.Don't forget recycling for all paper, magazines, phonebooks, plastics, and glass.Lights off in the bathroom unless you're in there.

yeah i'm not sure how effective a 4 day work week is either. On my days off, I'm usually out running errands, so I'm still polluting the environment.
