Could a product contradict itself any more? So you pay more to have fewer chemicals and processes applied to the milk, oh except for that last process to make it into treated milky water. And what's up with ultra-pasteurized? you're ruining it!
7/1/2008 8:52:56 PM
pasteurization and the removal of the fats does not add chemicals to the milk.
7/1/2008 8:53:41 PM
i add extra fat to my milk
7/1/2008 8:54:20 PM
It kills all the good bugs in the milk. The ones that make your stomach stronger.
7/1/2008 8:57:30 PM
that whole raw milk myth is pure bullshit.cases of listeria, salmonella, etc. have dropped dramatically since the introduction of pasteurization.
7/1/2008 9:00:32 PM
yeah, and so did good tasting milk
7/1/2008 9:01:08 PM
The only people who can talk about raw milk like that are in their 50s+. you do not match that requirement.
7/1/2008 9:02:01 PM
umm don't they just let the milk sit, letting the fats rise to the top upon which time they are "skimmed" creating skim milk? I mean what's the big deal guy
7/1/2008 9:02:15 PM
7/1/2008 9:10:43 PM
i prefer soy.
7/1/2008 9:15:16 PM
soy hurts my throat. but moreso, i can't quite convince myself i like the taste
7/1/2008 9:26:39 PM
i'm all about the organic milk because you can keep it in the fridge for a lot longer before it starts getting that days old milk odor.
7/1/2008 9:31:10 PM
7/1/2008 9:41:18 PM
you could probably have been put in jail for taking that home.
7/1/2008 9:46:29 PM
For what reason. The farmer allowed it. The fda does not operate in a very strict sense on individual dairy farms. There are no law enforcement officers in the rural-ass place where I grew up.
7/1/2008 9:48:20 PM
It is illegal to sell raw milk in North Carolina for human consumption. That said, jail time does not go along with it.
7/1/2008 11:13:25 PM
what about eggs?my grandpa sells the shit out of homegrown eggs
7/1/2008 11:15:41 PM
i've tried milk like that in India. My peoples are farmers over there. give me my reduced fat, pasteurized milk any day.for once i agree with nutsmackr]]
7/1/2008 11:20:27 PM
I heard the non homogenized milk is actually better for you then homogenized milk. Anyone know anything about this?and organic egg>>>>processed eggs[Edited on July 1, 2008 at 11:26 PM. Reason : eggs]
7/1/2008 11:25:43 PM
^ What is 'processed egg' to you? Eggs in a little milk-like carton? ("egg product")[Edited on July 1, 2008 at 11:29 PM. Reason : ]
7/1/2008 11:28:51 PM
corn fed chickens vs grass fed (or something of that nature). The white egg part is actually yellow and it taste a lot better i suggest you try it.
7/1/2008 11:31:37 PM
You just threw me off by calling them processed. Eh, I trust eggs. But I would be willing to try them. Just don't try to pass off that "free range" b.s. on me![Edited on July 1, 2008 at 11:39 PM. Reason : ]
7/1/2008 11:36:58 PM
^that is what is says on the box. Wether it is true or not i don't know.
7/1/2008 11:43:44 PM
chickens eat bugs and seeds, not grass
7/2/2008 12:10:48 AM
Sounds like another scare word, like "antibiotic free" chicken. ITS ALL ANTIBIOTIC FREE! Silly marketing!
7/2/2008 12:14:34 AM
^^Try telling that to my hens. They'd eat the yard bare if we let them.
7/2/2008 12:40:25 AM
i think the trick with free range is that its not set how much free range time they get...

pasteurization= heating milkskim/low fat milk = removing the fat from the milk, not "processing it like milky water"

of course. In fact, its the opposite. Some products labeled as such really are not. Its all about marketing. ]

from what i remember, all poultry/beef/pork could be given antibiotics at some point in its life. these, like any other medicine, only stay in your system for a certain amount of time. the containers these antibiotics and other medicines come in are clearly labeled that the animal cannot go to slaughter within 2 weeks, 4 weeks, whatever length of time. so, at the time of slaughter all animals for consumption are antibiotic free, unless somebody fucked up.there is a difference in antibiotic free at time of slaughter vs. antibiotic free for its entire life, though.i would rather eat a healthy animal that had some antibiotics at one point than an infected one that didn't (not that those who don't are automatically infected).
7/7/2008 10:34:41 AM
^^ yeah that's pretty confusing.
7/8/2008 8:00:13 AM
