So most of you know i hate my roomate. I found him on craig's list and he's somewhat older than i am.. well he's like a lost effing puppy. I really really dislike this guy but i'm too effing nice to let him know that or kick him out... anyway he keeps asking to tag along with me and lets face it... me and an older dude hanging out just looks homo.... how do i make him leave me the eff alone?

well let's look at it this way...is he at least a good roommate? does he clean up after himself? is he respectful of your things? does he pay you rent on time? bills? etc.

b/c if he's a good roommate then i'd say let all that other stuff go. good roommates are hard to find. you don't have to be best friends with the guy.

but if your dislike for him seriously outweighs him being a good roommate (if he is), then just tell him it's not working out, and ask him to move in the next 30 days.

Yeah see thats the thing... he goes in spells, he's a good roomate sometimes but then other times he binges on my food wakes me with my stereo and gets me yelled at by the hoa. So i yell at him and he's good for a while... The problem is that he has no friends of his own and is seriously so "simple" that being his friend is actually a difficult task... he wants everyone to take care of him like his mommy does.

I've had to ask two roommates to leave. I do it the same way I tell a girl its not working out or when I fire someone. Just look them in the eye and tell them its over. I've never had a problem being blunt with people, but I could see it how some might give pause to such an abrupt termination.
