7/27/2008 9:58:56 PM

7/27/2008 9:59:48 PM

7/27/2008 10:00:19 PM
I was witness to my very first demolition derby today at a fairI just about threw up when I saw those low brow scallywags leering and jeering as the cars collided^yes. in about a month (briefly)]
7/27/2008 10:01:26 PM
Are you in New York now?But no, rednecks in New York are nothing new. There are so many crazies around here (well, in NYC) to keep me amused. And sometimes disgusted.
7/27/2008 10:04:34 PM
indeed, I am
7/27/2008 10:05:22 PM
Where at? Actually in NYC? I'm curious. I've been in the city for the summer, I'll be sad to leave it in two weeks.
7/27/2008 10:08:42 PM
oh, nah. I'm about 4 hours from the city. I'm living in a town called Vestal
7/27/2008 10:10:19 PM
New York - state, has many rednecks
7/27/2008 10:11:55 PM
Aaaah, well I see why this topic was created. That definitely looks like one of those areas where rednecks abound. Good luck with the new(?) place and move. Transitioning is always fun!
7/27/2008 10:14:34 PM
Rural New York is full of small areas of PROFOUND ass-backwardness. Go to a rural county fair up there some time if you don't believe me.
7/27/2008 10:18:56 PM
no kidding. I saw an entire truck load of rednecksit was crazyI mean, you can fucking SEE the red on his neck![Edited on July 27, 2008 at 10:21 PM. Reason : ddss]
7/27/2008 10:21:04 PM
Its pretty well known and obvious that the rest of the state has hicks. They're only called red necks in the south, FYI.
7/27/2008 10:21:38 PM
most of them grow up to join our military
7/27/2008 10:26:48 PM
AHYUCK!
7/27/2008 10:27:30 PM
7/27/2008 10:32:39 PM
unfortunately rednecks and pwt are everywhere, and there are especially high concentrations in areas of northern/western ny. people think just because the extreme eastern sections of ny/nj are so urban the rest of the states must be too. demolition derbies are fucking awesome though. i'm a casual competitor at the nc state fair. there's just nothing like being able to act out some of your road rage fantasies. just observing/interacting with the people there is half the entertainment also. here's on of the three vehicles in my fleet. car 617xx out of old farm motorsports, w00t! (complete with goat roper hood ornament, lol)they take derbies REALLY serious up north and in the midwest though, even traveling all over the southeast to get rust free cars and spending stupid amounts of money preparing them. screw all that for something that's just going to get destroyed.[Edited on July 27, 2008 at 10:40 PM. Reason : AHAHA i can't help it, i LOL'd hard at that last pic. i'm kinda crippled too though, so it's cool]
7/27/2008 10:35:48 PM
haha.
7/27/2008 10:36:25 PM
I saw a standing ovation happen when a car flipped over on it's sideit was that point that I decided to leave man, I was born in DC....I'm not used to this shit ]
7/27/2008 10:41:08 PM
yeah, and anyone that gets out there and derbies fullsize trucks is a few cards shy of a full deck (not that i probably wouldn't do it). big full framed vehicles like that are a whole different story to be ramming into eachother vs. car on car.^haha, it's just a different form of people being entertained by doing dumb things with powered objects. dc/b-more just has they're stunters flying through the city on dirtbikes/4 wheelers/crotch rockets. [Edited on July 27, 2008 at 10:46 PM. Reason : .]
7/27/2008 10:42:48 PM
i went to northern NY oncecan't remember the name of the citybut red--fucking--necks. they put NC to shame, easily
7/27/2008 10:43:50 PM
^^ the trucks went firstthe second round was 3 cars I believethen I left p.s., I caught the girl in the wheelchair looking at my junk. There isn't too much you can do about that though
7/27/2008 10:47:57 PM
oh, and I went to the petting zoo.....because I'm a faggot and I started laughing when homeboy STOOD on his brother's NECK to get some animal food...
7/27/2008 10:52:44 PM
No, I saw Larry the Cable Guy perform there once.
7/27/2008 10:53:18 PM
my sister's third husband (yeah, i know...) was from some little bumfuck town in the adirondacks. you wouldn't have ever guessed it by how well he fit in with his doublewide in rural alabama. he turned out to be worse than anything from the rural south. he's back up in ny somewhere in prison now. you'd think someone with a phd in psychology would pick her mates better, but eh... i've always maintained psychologists/psychiatrists are the craziest of us all, just more intelligent. they choose their career in an attempt to fix themselves.
7/27/2008 10:53:21 PM
Its fun seeing the fat ones walking everywhere. There was this fat redneck family walking down the street in DC a couple weekends ago...you could tell they were tourists.
7/27/2008 11:59:45 PM
Emce i warned you there are more rednecks in ny than here
7/28/2008 12:01:03 AM
i miss bill
7/28/2008 12:04:37 AM
wait, so are you moving back already?
7/28/2008 12:09:55 AM
they are there too. I met a redneck up there that displayed the Confederate flag in his house. What does it mean up there if is supposed to mean "heritage" down here?
7/28/2008 12:12:40 AM
you live in the Sticks right? Probably most of your neighbors havent seen a black person in forever.....
7/28/2008 12:18:36 AM
Rural New York isnt that different from Rural NC. Just different accents and different beer.
7/28/2008 12:27:43 AM
Ha, that fairgrounds looks almost exactly like the one I have here in my hometown, except mine has more mountains in the background. And while the demolition derbys and tractor pulls are big events, the biggest draw is always the lawnmower race One of my best friend's grandfather builds mowers for the super custom class. I'll admit that watching a guy go 80mph on a lawnmower around a dirt track is pretty cool.
7/28/2008 12:51:12 AM
7/28/2008 1:13:37 AM
emce were you there with a white chick?
7/28/2008 1:14:48 AM
haha.. man, I lived in Newburgh, NY for 12 years. There are some places less than 10 mins from there that are EXACTLY like those photos. Definitely some backwoods type ish going down up there and that was only about 1.5 hrs north of NYC. A couple years ago, I took my wife up there to see where I used to live and stuff... and on some of those back-roads, we realized it looked just like Rowan county, where she grew up.
7/28/2008 1:39:22 AM
^^ no
7/28/2008 8:02:30 AM

7/28/2008 8:08:38 AM
