I like it. I don't see why people like facebook more. There are just as many 17 and under people on facebook now. Both social networks are they same. You can send your friends messages, post comments, and load photos on your site. The only difference is that people put graphics on myspace which I enjoy doing.

That is really the big difference for me. I hardly use Facebook as it is and I don't have the time or patience to sort through the sensory disaster of a MySpace page.

^So you don't care either all that much? I really do think the social networks are calming down now. The people I work with pretty much forced me to join myspace. When I first joined, the whole store would be on there every night after work and now most people go on there about once a week at most. Some people haven't logged on in like 3 months and I never hear people talking at work anymore about what happened on myspace, or facebook the night before.

giving the masses html is like giving every teenager spray paint and telling them to go nuts.

^You know, "Did you see that she said that I said that he said!" There have been plenty of times that someone got upset with someone else because of what they said about them on one of the social networks. I think it is getting to the point where a lot of people realize that they don't have 200+ friends and that they actually have the phone number, e-mail, and home address of their real friends. If I wanted to I could cut my friends list down to about 5 people and nothing would change. Myspace did help me reconnect with some old friends from high school and I now party with them on the weekends, but there are also about 50 other people from high school and college who have never even taken the time to send me a message even once.

^^I don't feel that way, but then again I have only used Facebook about twice. Both neworks suck anyway because the cute girls always set their page on private. Then someone was talking about me behind my back and their friend said something and I couldn't see what they said. I don't care what the people said, but it still would have been fun to read it.

^I work at the grocery store, but there are plenty of people in their mid 20s to mid 30s that got all worked up over what happened on myspace. It's silly to act like that. Then the group of people I party with causes plenty of drama online. One girl got mad at me because I told someone else that she was "just a friend." Her cousin sent me an AOL IM conversation transcript where they had talked about me. I wasn't upset about it, but also didn't care to read it. She was quite embarrassed even though it was nothing I didn't already know.

^Yeh I know some people don't want the entire world looking in on their life, but I really don't care if people see my page. It would have been interesting to see what that girl said to the guy that hates me so much.

we can't really be having a discussion about social networks... We're in our 20's/30's, don't we have a life off of the 'net? Even an guy like me in front of a box 12+ hours a day has an outside life - no need for Facebook or Myspace. Just good 'ol phone numbers in a non-smart phone. Call people, drink beer with people, have some wings with people. Not type messages on walls to people.

^Well said! Like I said, I think a lot of people are starting to realize they don't have 200+ friends and that they could just call their real friends, or send them an e-mail when they want to talk to them.

Twitter > Myspace & Facebook

That is something I don't understand the point of.

I think they have equalized some, nevertheless when I started facebook it had many more college contemporaries, and since it strikes me as redundant & a waste of time to be particularly active on more than one I just stick to the one that I was already on.
