I usually use cars for my desktop backgrounds. But I like to switch it up from time to time and use pictures photographers have taken of landscapes and stuff. If you want these in 1600x1200 format, just pm me and I can email them to you. Here are some of my favorites though. Post up what you got or other pictures of/on this planet that make you go, "woah, that's beautiful" or "that's really cool."

Maybe not epic, but the large version of this sunset that I took at Bath (the first town in NC), has spent time as my desktop background for its aesthetic & historical value.

About 10 years ago there was a night you could see them in Raleigh. I thought I was going crazy until they mentioned it on the news the next morning

It's a combination of Oversaturation and HDR photography. Both involve photoshop. Sad, but true.

I have a pretty shitty camera, but here are some I took when backpacking Europe last year:

Interlaken (Swiss Alps):

Cinque Terre, Italy:

Santorini, Greece:

Lake Waccamaw, NC:

Look at this thread and my pictures...I've come to 2 conclusions...(1) I have a shitty camera and (2) I take bad pictures.

Stephen, I might have some cool photos for you. I took a lot at the top of Mount Haleakala before and during sunrise when I was in Hawaii last year.

Nothing online, but I'll go through them next week and look around.

While a hellephant would be quite scary, I find the truth more disturbing. It's a valcano.
