he did a ballsy thing and then wimped out and apologized.

9/10/2009 5:44:15 AM
What's going on here?
9/10/2009 7:39:14 AM
Hey look, a politician calling another politician a liar. Ain't that some shit?
9/10/2009 8:15:30 AM
A rep from SC said to the Pres. "You lie!" last night and the Big O glared at him.
9/10/2009 8:32:44 AM
I've never met a South Carolinian that had a sense of decorum. He's just another South Carolinian.
9/10/2009 9:07:06 AM
I'm glad someone has the balls to stand up to Pres. Obama.
9/10/2009 9:07:52 AM
9/10/2009 9:08:40 AM
Standing up to him in the middle of a joint session of Congress? Seriously, TIME AND A PLACE. That wasn't it.
9/10/2009 9:09:43 AM
He didn't have the balls, he backed the fuck down and bitched the fuck out by apologizing. And what makes you think people don't stand up to him on a daily basis? Because you'd be afraid to man up and say what you've got to say to him? I support him, but he's just the president, not fucking God. Don't project your social inadequacies on others, son.
9/10/2009 9:10:06 AM
Besides, lots of people in his own party said it was a dumb thing to do. McCain went on Larry King and said as much.
9/10/2009 9:11:19 AM
He's made a lot of people happy in South Carolina though.
9/10/2009 9:15:59 AM
^ That excuses bad behavior? A member of Congress ought to have a bit of dignity when addressing the president. God knows, Republicans sure demanded it of everyone else after 9/11. You can think the president is 100% wrong, but this sort of behavior from him is self-defeating.
9/10/2009 9:21:30 AM
He's representing the people of South Carolina, who love the fact that he shouted out during the speech. I'm just saying, as a politician, he's representing their voices. I'm not saying it wasn't wrong, it was clearly wrong. I think the bigger issue is why the people feel that way in SC, and has less to do with Joe Wilson apologizing. He's just one man, that represents a formidable southern state.
9/10/2009 9:36:10 AM
When her first did it: Good job, Joe.After the apology: You're such a bitch, Joe.
9/10/2009 9:38:14 AM
formidable? we're talking about the state that spent weeks deciding if they should keep the confederate flag flying at their state capitol?
9/10/2009 9:38:44 AM
"I still believe we can replace acrimony with civility, and gridlock with progress."[Edited on September 10, 2009 at 9:39 AM. Reason : South Carolina: "What's 'acrimony' mean?"]
9/10/2009 9:39:00 AM
Make no mistake, Fox News will make this man a hero.
9/10/2009 9:47:51 AM
^ Side tangent, but Keith Olbermann does a really good Steve Doocy impression.

Well I mean, this guy is from the same state that brought us Preston Brooks so I guess we should be glad he didn't throw his chair at Obama.
9/10/2009 9:56:50 AM
9/10/2009 9:57:59 AM
Poorly played, Joe.
9/10/2009 10:08:39 AM
The republican Congressman from South Carolina Wilson managed to fund his opponents entire campaign by shouting out to call the president a lair in the middle of his address to a joint session of congress last night.http://www.actblue.com/entity/fundraisers/19079The amount raised went up 3000 dollars while I typed this message.
9/10/2009 10:11:48 AM
yeah, he sure did read a lot of pretty words for 44 minutes. i think thats what what we need to take away from this. That and the fact that people in south carolina with their black people and poverty probably can't understand words outside of a klan meeting. plus they're from the south and im with froshkiller and miss teen california on this one: we believe in slavery and made in chinaend of story[Edited on September 10, 2009 at 10:13 AM. the last few years have conclusively proved that the majority of people can be bamboozled with flowery/pretty speeches and little else.
9/10/2009 10:36:46 AM
It's slightly ironic that everyone claims South Carolinian's are stupid, when they appear to be the only ones not swallowing Obama's verbal load. Wouldn't it be the other way around if they were truly stupid? Who are the real stupid ones?[Edited on September 10, 2009 at 10:51 AM. Reason : -]
9/10/2009 10:50:35 AM
I'm pretty sure the absurd tea parties and idiotic derailing of town hall meetings proves that wrong.
9/10/2009 10:51:57 AM
9/10/2009 10:54:24 AM
^^I went to a tea party in downtown Raleigh. It wasn't absurd. It wasn't filled with crazy folks. There was no hate speech, there were blacks and Hispanics there as well. Just lots of people who think that big government is not the answer.[Edited on September 10, 2009 at 10:54 AM. Reason : -]
9/10/2009 10:54:48 AM
^ then yours may have been the most civil of all of them.
9/10/2009 10:55:42 AM
Where were the tea parties in 2002?
9/10/2009 10:55:52 AM
absurd tea parties indeed! what gets me is how these people get the nerve to speak their minds and the party most of them are affiliated with isn't even known for public assembly. what are they gonna do next, apply for a peaceable assembly permit? stage a sit in? have an opinion? fucking hypocrites
9/10/2009 10:57:47 AM
^ you missed the entire point. that's excellent.
9/10/2009 10:59:01 AM
9/10/2009 11:01:10 AM
no im pretty sure i got the point and we're both arguing the same onethe only thing i missed was that you were responding in hyperbole
9/10/2009 11:01:54 AM
It was worth it just to see Nancy Pelosi's scowl.
9/10/2009 11:17:44 AM
she always looks like she's mugging for hundreds of cameras that aren't pointed at her
9/10/2009 11:20:34 AM
I seriously think Obama could say that he hates poor people and wants to kill them all and she would get a gigantic smile, start clapping, and stand up whilst continuing to clap.
