I love the parks, and am hoping this will ignite some real interest in them. I only ever came to know of them and appreciate them because I first looked into them as cheap vacation destinations (specifically, in NC). And then I began to appreciate them.

The parks are grossly underfunded, some are very, very heavily traveled (especially when you consider the funding issues), and most just don't capture the public interest (through no shortcomings of their own).

^ and I make it a point to support the parks as much as we can financially, both directly and indirectly. Hopefully, increased/renewed interest in the parks will have more people doing the same.

there are still lots of glaciers in glacier

but certainly not as many as even 20 years ago. and the ones that are left are melting pretty rapidly
