So I got a new job a couple weeks ago and they want to make some business cards for me but I don't have a title. I felt like this job would be best in the hands of the Wolf Web.

So technically what I will be doing is software support, implementation, and internal IT infrastructure work, with some documentation.

Whoever comes up with the title I choose will get a business card, and with said business card a beer. Go!

Actually, his real title is "Faggot". Anybody that has titled themselves or accepted a title like that has got to be queer.

seriously, though, i would look at titles of people in your industry of jobs that you WANT to have in the future. and pick something everyone understands.

for me, i would pick something like Principal Development Engineer if I could get away with it. because everyone understands what these words mean, and most people in the industry know what they mean in conjunction with each other.

i could get away with that title at a mom and pop outfit, but i cant get away with that at a Fortune 200 company in an FDA regulated industry, because i obviously dont have the requisite experience.

agree with joe. just don't put anything that looks past your age/experience. then people will just roll their eyes at you when you give them the card.

^^ throw "Senior" in front of it.

^ yeah, sometimes it can be a grey area with smaller privately owned design outfits (if that's the role you actually filled), but that title wont transfer if you go to a larger, publicly traded company.

Do you answer customer calls? If so, you might not be given Director or System Admin.

I'd go with "I'm not smart enough to figure this out for myself."
