maybe just a little bit?

I do, and I don't feel bad for it.

I'm not a liar, just a captivating storyteller.

this could be why my stories tend to be much more interesting and funny when they're in my head than when i tell them

anyone who was even remotely stupid turns into the biggest retard of all time

anyone who was even remotely ugly turns into ambrosia

my thoughts exactly.

a decent girl is now the hottest girl i've ever seen.

I drove 90 the whole way home, when really I drove 70...blah blah blah.

It's not lying, because EVERYONE does it.

haha i was just picking on LivinProof78 the other day for embellishing her stories

however my stories dont need embellishment, they're hardcore enough on their own

if they need embellishing they're not worth telling in the first place

^^i talked to her about that

I came to the conclusion that she doesn't embellish, she just tells the story to exact detail- like instead of her saying we were drunk, she'll tell that we had been drinking since 1 in the afternoon, killed a case of beer, a fifth of liquor, fallen down three times, and burnt two couches... all of which is true, but not pertinent to the fact that we were drunk before we went to the bar where we lost at beer pong 3 games in a row

And I suppose if I had to choose between the true version and an elaborate one involving a fish and a wedding ring, I might choose the fancy version. But that's just me.

V me too

<-- I do it all the time without even thinking about it. Fortunately, the people who really know me are well aware of my tendency to take creative liberties with the truth and take it in stride. It's when I'm talking to people who *don't* know me that a little self awareness and guilt creep in. But it's usually not enough to shut me up.

NEVER

I couldn't even imagine not telling a story EXACTLY as I can remember it

I don't know if it comes from my scientific or rational bit (not really a "moral" one) but my integrity to tell things "as they are" is pretty absolute

except when I'm dodging my own failings... but that really doesn't count, does it? (not to mention that it wasn't the question at hand so...)

I hate it when I'm listening to somebody lie about a story because I was there and know what really happened, so I usually don't. Which is probably why people don't talk to me

There's a difference between embellishing and flat out lying though. I know a girl in my town that just outright lies in her stories and it's really transparent.

If you told me you caught a 50 pound fish when you caught a 20 pound wish, I don't care.
If you told me you caught a 50 pound fish and you've never touched a fishing rod in your life, why the hell are you telling me it to begin with?

i may exaggerate....but i do not change things

besides...i've never told a story about you that you were even remotely coherent enough to remember....so it's not like you know if i'm making up shit or not

nope, not really. I portray the utterly uninteresting events of my life in all their panoramic, technicolor boredom.
