Jesus. I can buy a pair of jeans for less than the 20% you're offering off on that overpriced trash.

$40 will get you a solid pair of jeans.

Me, personally, I don't understand the desire to spend copious amounts of money on denim. When I buy a suit, I buy a nice suit. When I buy a tie, I buy a nice tie. When I buy jeans Levis are fine. I don't need to spend $200 to look good

^really? where is that.

lol nvm you said levis

there are a dozen reasons why a designer pair of jeans are a hell of a lot better than levis or wranglers. Just like buying that nice suit vs. the bargain suit makes a huge difference.

and ties? really? you'll spend on ties but not on a pair of jeans? thats a joke.

id like to find a pair for around 40 bucks that will hold together. i got a bunch of lee and levis that looked good when i got them for 30 or so but they are busted all to hell

i also have a pair of "cheps" (?) and they have held up the best

For me, diminishing marginal returns are reached rather rapidly in the jean market. I mean, if your argument is ethical I can see that. I'm sure there are also some whose quality is legitimately better, but not significantly enough for me to spend that kind of money on jeans.

I had a couple of pairs of Wranglers last over two years of riding nearly every day. I've got some Levis that I've owned for a couple of years which haven't given me any problems.

People notice a cheap tie. Jeans and a shirt are classic American casual and you can pull them off anywhere as long as they're clean(ish) and they fit. If you're going to go to the expense of getting a nice suit and then ruin it with a cheap centerpiece . . . Now, I'm not saying you've got to pay exorbitant amounts for a tie, but ties (and shoes) are worth a certain amount of investment.
