So I got called into my 2^nd line manager's office today for some 30 minute meetings. I had no clue what it was about.

Anyway, my manager and my 2^nd line started giving me a hard time about something, but they were pretty bad about it. They kept smiling, and coming up with baseless, minor 'problems'. Then they said j/k, we just wanted to thank you for yada yada yada.

They handed me a company card that essentially said "Thanks for your hard work on your program, and especially the hard work during the user jury 2 weeks ago. To show our appreciation, here is a SPOT award good for $500. Expect to see this in your Oct. 23^rd paycheck."

meh

it's the equivalent of walking down the street and finding a check with your name on it for $500. unexpected money is always nice. but the BIGGEST part of it isn't the money... it's that my manager, and my manager's manager recognized that I busted my ass and impressed our customers by doing a lot of shit that I wasn't supposed to be doing.
