10/20/2009 10:58:29 AM
Why do you live so far away from work?
10/20/2009 10:58:52 AM

10/20/2009 11:05:20 AM
lol wut????
10/20/2009 11:06:15 AM
I work in Garner and it's at least a 10-15 drive going about 60 most of the way sooooobump that
10/20/2009 11:07:19 AM
60 miles each way is a bit much to bike
10/20/2009 11:07:43 AM
^^And?I work in RTP and it's a 10-15 minute drive on I-40. It takes about 35 minutes on a bike.If there was an accident on I-40, I'd probably get there faster on a bike.^Yeah that's a bit much. I wouldn't even want to drive that distance each day.[Edited on October 20, 2009 at 11:08 AM. Reason : FUCK]
10/20/2009 11:08:09 AM
^ you're also propbably the moron holding traffic up
10/20/2009 11:09:06 AM
If you can't pass a bike riding on a shoulder you're probably an awful driver anyway.
10/20/2009 11:10:00 AM
^3 And? I don't give a shit how long it takes you to get to work. A) I like my sleep. B) I drive a back way and the intersection I have to go through is a mad house and I don't want to die trying to cross it. C) I don't have a bike. D) I wouldn't do it even if I DID have a bike.[Edited on October 20, 2009 at 11:10 AM. Reason : .]

10/20/2009 11:11:07 AM
^^well you responded to his thread, so don't say "who gives a shit"[Edited on October 20, 2009 at 11:11 AM. Reason : lkjh]
10/20/2009 11:11:10 AM
Your argument was that it takes you 10-15 minutes to drive, therefore it must be too long. That's really not that bad.
10/20/2009 11:11:50 AM
I was just saying I don't give a shit how long it takes him, it's not going to convince me ^ I consider 10-15 too long because I'm impatient. So 35 minutes is just a no-go for me.[Edited on October 20, 2009 at 11:13 AM. Reason : .]
10/20/2009 11:12:15 AM
Maybe your fat ass will.
10/20/2009 11:12:34 AM
Owned.
10/20/2009 11:12:57 AM
I drive to work because I hate the planet and navigating my old, inefficient SUV through masses of half-awake, bitter, disenfranchised wage slaves stuck on I40 makes me happy. Or maybe its because I don't have a job right now, and therefore I don't have a work to drive to. Either/or, your pick
that was a hip little write up
10/20/2009 11:13:50 AM
+1
10/20/2009 11:14:12 AM
Maybe my fat ass will eventually make me consider it. And maybe your holier than thou attitude will eventually make you consider removing the stick from your ass?Who knows.

10/20/2009 11:17:58 AM
damn, you ate the bike
10/20/2009 11:18:51 AM
i'll ride the bike at the gym, but i won't ride an actual bike. the seats are too small and they hurt my ass!
10/20/2009 11:19:59 AM
x4^ It's not true for me...
10/20/2009 11:20:12 AM
Even though I'm unemployed, I've actually considered getting in my car and just driving up and down I40 a couple of times during morning and evening rush hour just to add to the congestion. Somehow knowing I don't actually have to go to work would make sitting in traffic with a bunch of people who do have to be at work somewhat entertaining.

busy fast roads, no bike lane, busy bridge, weather, poor intersectionsi also need a new(er) bike and a good (not broken) helmetif there was a bike lane the whole way i probably would ride (kinda hilly but nothing obscene)[Edited on October 20, 2009 at 11:47 AM. Reason : s]

Even if I picked, say, an incredibly expensive and great commuter like the Trek Portland ($1699) and compared it to a cheap commuter, say a Toyota Yaris ($12000), the investment for the car is still a hundred times more than the bicycle.[Edited on October 20, 2009 at 11:33 AM. Reason : FUCK]

riding a bike to work from south raleigh to rtp simply would not be practicalunless you are talking about motorcycles... in which case, I would never feel safe enough on that drive. Hell, half the mornings I would feel scared of other drivers and I am in a big ol' truck
