Cary was great 20 years ago.Apex was great 10 (ish) years ago.Fuck both those shitty ass town cities.Piss poor infrastructure, unable to handle the influx, they're fucked. It reminds me of the treehouse I had as a kid. There was a time when it was awesome. As the years passed it was upgraded and enhanced in many ways, but eventually it wore out.The floors became softThe ladder became shakyThe Playboy pictures nailed to the walls faded and toreAnd the only thing left to do was to light it on fire, hide in the nearby woods, and wait for the RMFD to show up.k?[Edited on October 20, 2009 at 11:34 PM. 10/20/2009 11:38:54 PM
Out of the many places in wake co to live, you can do a lot worse than caryits really not that bad
10/20/2009 11:39:20 PM
plus, cary EMS/cary fire are completely awesome.
10/20/2009 11:40:01 PM
it's just so quintessentially yuppie-suburbiaand it SUCKS to drive through
10/20/2009 11:40:33 PM
it's really not that bad to drive if you know what areas/roads to avoid at what timesit also helps to know the smaller roads, as it seems like everyone who doesn't know cary very well just goes around maynard until they figure out where they're going
10/20/2009 11:42:24 PM
I'd rather live in South Raleigh on Pecan St.PECAN CLAN FOR LIFE SON.
10/20/2009 11:42:56 PM
10/20/2009 11:47:06 PM
I like Cary.
10/21/2009 12:14:30 AM
I dont see any reason to hate caryalthough they are destroying it at a fast paceall the corners where there used to be trees is quickly becoming the same old shopping centers with same old crapthe sad thing is once its destroyed it never comes back
10/21/2009 12:20:24 AM
10/21/2009 12:22:23 AM
it has its moments
10/21/2009 1:23:03 AM
I like Cary. I'd rather be there than here, certainly.
10/21/2009 1:35:55 AM
I dislike Cary. The best way of putting it would be that it offends my sensibilities (as much sense as that statement does or does not make).

They call me Umstead...Raleigh Umstead III Jr.

I like living in Cary a lot. I live near downtown and can walk down the street to the soda fountain at Ashworth's, Serendipity cafe, and Harrisons (or Pure Gold). I could get anything I need within a 5 minute bike ride.
10/21/2009 2:55:21 AM
Cary strikes me as a little generic, but not outright bad by any means. When I lived in Sumter Square apartments I found it easy to do a lot of shopping or eating out both in Raleigh or Cary, especially at Crossroads.
10/21/2009 2:58:49 AM
.I was born and raised in Cary. My mother was also raised there and taught at Cary High. Her Father went to Cary High School although he was raised outside of cary technically (the town limits didnt reach his farm but it was the closest town). His father attended cary high school. His father was the first superintendent of the Cary school system before it was ever incorporated into wake county. That is five generations that went to cary high school because it was the closest school even if they didnt all live in the town limits due the the size of cary. Then a bunch of people moved here. I appreciate this in one way but it is really annoying when I tell people that I am from Cary and they ask "where are you from originallly?" fuckers. right here! But in general, I really like Cary. I dont live there now but I am within a two minute walk of the town limits. (live of jones franklin behind crossroads.) [Edited on October 21, 2009 at 6:04 AM. Reason : .]

I liked Cary. You know, back when they actually had trees.
10/21/2009 6:47:31 AM
I grew up there, went to school there, my parents and sister still live, there I like it. People down on it pretty bad but there is nothing wrong with it. Yeah there are ore strip mall than there used to be but that can be said of just about anyplace around here. There are some stuck up people but that can also be said for anywhere. I used to think that the town govt and police where fucked but now that I have grown up I can see they work fairly well. Live in Apex now, really see no problem with them either...

I love living in Cary. We live in an older neighborhood (with lots of trees), our neighbors are awesome. I can walk or bike just about anywhere I would want to go.There are definitely areas and roads that I avoid (ie: Crossroads), and there are some things about Cary that I don't understand. Overall, it's a nice place to live.P.S. Did you know that Cary was getting a Bojangles?
10/21/2009 7:49:03 AM
my name is Cary, Cary T. Center
10/21/2009 7:56:20 AM
Cary haters, come to durham, it is the anti-cary.
10/21/2009 8:01:50 AM
haha^ I work in Durham, maybe that's why I appreciate living in Cary. That and I come from a really small town.I do hate the drive home every evening, though.
10/21/2009 8:11:26 AM
I've always said that if I could pick the place for God's next sinkhole, it would be under the town of Cary.
