I went last year....it was pretty good...if you're a jumpy person just don't let yourself get distracted by talking to people in your group, or else you'll turn around and might shit your pants when you see whatever has snuck up behind you.

well that's good

the cost doesn't seem bad either, just the time thing I was wondering about

^^^ I haven't been in a couple years but it used to be that they only had certain rides open, so there was enough time to ride everything at least once if the crowd isn't too bad

The Halloween event at Busch Gardens is miles ahead of Carowinds, and then Carowinds is significantly ahead of Kings Dominion.

If you live in the Raleigh area (in between the 3 parks) you should definitely do the Busch Gardens one. And I say this as someone who runs a Carowinds website.

All of the rides are open this year except for the Nickelodeon Central stuff. It's a lot bigger than it has been in the past. Plus you'll get to see this:

went last sunday...

was prett cool. fun to ride the rides at night, and there weren't very many people there since i went on a sunday. went into about 6 'haunted houses'...nothing to right home about, but i had a good time.

we got there at 9 and stayed until midnight. plenty of time to do all the rides. some a couple of times.

tried to chug some beers in the lot, but there were some security jerks patroling around making it hard to do.

Going on a Saturday, especially Halloween, would probably be an absolute disaster. Looking at the webcam right now, the parking lot is completely filled, which means horrible lines. http://66.193.7.116/mjpg/video.mjpg

i know busch gardens is a better park. but the other two a bit closer and that matters when driving back at 1am.

thanks for all the input everyone

The year I went on Halloween a few years ago sucked. The lines were sooo long we were only able to ride like 1 ride before everything closed down.

^^ Busch Gardens opens at 10 AM instead of 7 PM, and the Halloween stuff starts at 5, so you can be back home by 1.

You'll still have a good time at Carowinds though if you decide to do that.

damn it'd suck if the lines were that bad.

Kings dominion you can get there at 4 for a reduced price. That is an option. I feel like I'd be able to knock out all the rides in the daylight and do scary stuff at night.

Yeah, that's sort of the big flaw with the Carowinds event. At Busch Gardens and Kings Dominion, the Halloween event is part of normal park operations, but at Carowinds, they close the park at 5:30 and make everybody leave, then you have to pay again if you want to come in at 7 for Scarowinds, so you can't just knock out the rides during the day unless you pay twice.

Scarowinds is OK.. the times i went in the past it was just a bunch of black people walking around being all loud and over dramatic.

oh yea and last year when i went i was stuck behind some 11 year old who thought he was a badass and kept bowin up at the people and the costumes..

oh i forgot if your up that way go this haunted house.. it is by far one of the scariest of the area..its well worth it

damn, but Kings Dominion and Carowinds reduce the price while Busch Gardens still wants 60 bucks.

That's twice as much. whoa

Or, you can buy the 2-year pass for Busch Gardens for $150, and go whenever you want for 2 years, while paying $6/month with no interest. You seriously cannot beat that.

Plus you get free premium parking with that, and a 10% discount on food and merchandise. It is a pretty good deal. I got the platinum one and used it at Sea World and Busch Gardens Tampa last month.

decided on kings dominion.

love volcano and flight of fear

dominator is imressive, but something boring about it.

they have more scare zones anyway.
