Normally I don't care too badly how Facebook organizes its front page.

Even now I don't really care much.

But this latest layout doesn't make any fucking sense. It's split the home page feed into two parts:
-News Feed, which I assume is trying to sort itself based on importance rather than time posted, though it seems to just be randomly throwing things around
-Live Feed, which sorts chronologically (like the feed used to), but now includes even more useless things I don't need to know about, like when FriendX became friends with PersonY (who I don't know and have never heard of), or when FriendX posted on the wall of PersonY (who I again don't know and have never heard of).

What was wrong with sorting chronologically without including all sorts of things my friends do with people I've never met? This shit wouldn't even be useful to an obsessive FB stalker.


Also, I just noticed that they added something below the "People you may know" bit: Some sort of thing that tells you how "active" your friends are on facebook (40%? Is that supposed to mean something?), asks you to suggest pictures/friends for them, and wants you to "reconnect" with them.

I would imagine that means 40% of your friends actively use Facebook.

the only thing I miss with the new layout is the photo album highlights...that was pretty sweet.

otherwise, I have my default wall set to status messages, so I never see the news/live feed anyway unless I click on it.

that means I never saw how much you've farmed today on farmville, or what kind of word your name means, or which X Men character you are either (unless I wanted to) which was nice.

i like seeing the live feed cover more- i felt like i was missing 80% of the news prior to the switch

i, too, do not like the "friendx is now friends with persony" feature or the active-ness of my friends. i don't need to reconnect with these people. actually, a couple of them i had just posted on their wall then it says i need to reconnect and post on their wall. wtf. the news/live feed is stupid, bring back the old one. the only change i wanted was a dislike button, and we didn't get that.

that's what the old one did, they've really only moved the "highlights" that was on the right column into the middle of the page. basically it just took whoever's profile you visited or interacted with most and put whatever they did in the highlights section.
