Pitbulls aren't any more inherently bad than any other breed...

I know Mrs C is trolling and all... but I do agree in so much as I hate what having a Pitbull has come to represent to a lot of people. I've known some great Pitbull family pets...

as a general rule, i hate MOST purebred dogs...the VAST majority are genetic toilets...i think pits can make great pets (just like i think most dogs can make great pets in most situations), but hell if i'd want a purebred anything

in 6 years of vet tech/kennel work, i'd never met a mean pitbull

in fact, i'd say that it's not the dog that i dislike so much as the type of owner (in general)...they're USUALLY white trash or ghetto black, rarely have them neutered (because those kinds of people rarely own female dogs), and don't pick up their dog's crap at the dog park

this is, of course, a gross generalization, but it's still my experience thus far

so i take it you're a vet? or have a degree in animal behavior/husbandry/whatever? or a breeder? i mean, what sort of technical knowledge must one have to establish a valid opinion about their pet preferences?

as noted above, i have 6 years of 20-40 hours/week working with dogs, both as a vet tech and (when i was younger) as a kennel "technician" (though, really, it's just dog walker / pooper scooper)

in any case, that's a fair amount of experience...am i qualified to have an opinion about what breeds of dogs i like? it's a damn OPINION...perhaps HIS experiences have led him to feel one way, while yours have led you to feel another...perhaps you'd BOTH feel differently if you had the experiences of the other person
