Josh from V2 is a dbag, and the only reason I can cut him some slack is b/c of the pressure he is under to coordinate the massive fucking team that is under him, as well as live up to the federal funding he's receiving for this project.

Sean is a dbag, and after 5 years of trying to get this one camera shot, I guess I'd probably be a dbag too.

Reed is intolerable.

Josh even asked him to email it - I'm guessing so that he didn't have to say it in front of the cameras. That's a reasonable offer. To flat out deny it is shitty.
Of course, they like to make drama for the episode previews. I'm sure he tells him at some point.

I like that Sean made fun of him for copying TIV. That whole "dominator, dominator, dominator..." segment was pretty funny.

My only questions when I watch this show is where the hell do these guys get the $$ to do this sorta stuff?

For example, where does Sean get the money to build not 1, but 2 armored vehicles, drive them around the midwest for 5 years, lease an IMAX camera and film for 5 years, and pay a team, while supporting a family?

How much money does Reed make from selling tornado videos? It is obviously enough to armor a truck, buy a weather radar to stick on the back of said armored truck, buy a huge house (did anyone notice his new house in last nights episode?), camera equipment, and a pod or two.

Josh is obviously funded by the government, so that isn't a big deal. But the other teams seemingly endless supply of mystery cash leaves me scratching my head.

i don't watch this show often, but its on my DVR now. Does Sean know anything about storm cells/tornados or is he strictly in this for the IMAX footage? Every time he speaks in regards to a storm or a cloud wall he sounds like he has no idea

I'd say that Josh is the biggest "douche" out of all of them. All he cares about is the data and snubs anyone who actually wants to experience the storm. I agree that he probably doesn't care too much for Sean having seen not only Stormchasers from the beginning but also the series of shows starting with the construction of TIV 1. Sean's a bit impatient and a little goofy, but his non-seriousness makes him fairly enjoyable to watch. I don't see know where all of this hate for Reed is coming from. Granted I missed last night's episode where things got a bit heated but you can't deny the fact that Reed has a real instinct for this. I like how he's always willing to stay just those few extra moments in a storm when Josh would have been already hiding 10 miles away in his little DOW truck. Also, Reed has a smokin' hot girlfriend so that earns his bonus points. Oh, and he was on Wait, Wait, Don't Tell me a few months back http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=113202093 so crazy funny.

You also have to consider that not only does Reed get results by his instincts and training but he also has to exude that confidence to others to where they'll follow him and not question his judgment. Call it ego if you want but out of Reed, Josh and Sean I'd chase with Reed any day. That said, I'd hate to have him as a competitor. Keep in mind, we only get a glimpse at who all is out there during a season. You can bet that there are far more egotistical chasers who are no where near as good.

gotta respectfully disagree with you on this one, Reed is a egotistical, adrenaline addicted, control freak. Even though he asks for the opinions of other people in his car, he has to be the one that is always right. He doesn't really want their input unless it is to back up whatever his stance is. That's why Joel is sick of his shit. Whenever Reed asks Joel's opinion, and Joel disagrees, he throws a big-ass fit and accuses Joel of having a bad attitude.

Plus he's really not out for anything scientific. He's out to shoot video of storms close-up so he can sell the videos for profit. At least, that's what he's been doing. I honestly think the radar they've slapped on their vehicle is a gimmick; an attempt to gain minimalistic scientific credibility. But first and foremost is the severe weather profiteering.

At least Josh is actually after something useful. He's not looking for money, he's not looking for a movie, he's trying to do research, and better understand the storms. He is the one who developed all these mobile radar trucks in the first place. It would be easy for him to do the same storm chasing that Reed is doing, but he actually wants to do something useful with his time rather than just gawk at a bunch of twisters.

This is why, out of all the douchebaggery present on the show, I can stomach Josh.

Fair enough. I guess I see that bit of "adrenaline addiction" of myself in Reed. I honestly don't think that if I went into storm chasing or even research that I'd be doing it for altruistic reasons. I would be out there to experience the weather and learn how it works but not necessarily to improve warning times or to save Billy Bob's farm. Hate on Reed if you must, but you'll actually learn more "weather lingo" from watching him than Josh.

You guys should try and find the very first episode that had Sean building the TIV and meeting Josh for the first time. I want to say it was a two hour show but the girl they had chasing with them that summer was so smokin' hot.
