For me it is an extra $0.90 and hour. It really adds up, plus I like sleeping when the sun is out

Working nights is fine for me. I just wouldn't be able to handle frequently rotating shifts. That garbage messes with your body clock something fierce.

I work three rotations. 3,2,1 in that order; 3 and 2 are fine but I get crushed on first since you were a creature of the night for 6 weeks and then you have to work when you are normally asleep.

we do 4 on 4 off, each new shift goes back n forth day n nights......that sucks. For me i love night, so its so damn hard to come off nights and then try to go to sleep on time to wake up for days

To be fair I have a bit of a split shift. Mid Shift Wed-Fri and Swing Sat-Sun. I'd really like a normal Mon-Fri but that's not likely to happen for a while. Other than the military to maintain alert levels I can't see the logic in demanding rotating shifts.

I work Sunday and Monday 4p-1a, then Tues-Thurs 3p-midnight. I'm off Friday and Saturday. I enjoy the shift, other than not getting to do weeknight evenings with friends. But it's 10% more pay than the 8a-5p shift, so I'll take it .

^that sounds pretty good. you have time off when stuff like banks, etc. are still open. 8-5 sucks b/c you can't get any business taken care of b/c everyone else works the same schedule.

^That and it's going to make looking for a house a lot easier. I can go see houses before work, rather than so late in the evening when traffic sucks.
