as long as it's says it's universal, you should be good.

universal long life.

should say compatible with BMW 343.343434343434343433...

under your hood, it should mention which one you should use. make sure the regular one fits on that list.

i've seen bmw's use yellow, pink, etc... the color doesn't matter, but the spec. does.

odds are he has the blue coolant in there already and just needs to top it off with less than a gallon more, dont be stingy over $8 difference between coolant. now if it was a full flush and you wanted to go the cheap route, go for it.

if it's barely low then why not just add some water and be done with it? doesn't get cold enough around here to really matter

bump

k so i got the right coolant, topped it off, and now 3 weeks later the light is coming on again, so i must have a leak

not to mention my brake pad light came on too, so i gotta get those things changed out, hopefully it hasn't worn down so much it's hurt anything like the rotor or whatnot (im not a car person) but as far as i can tell i've noticed nothing different when braking, no squeaking or needing to mash down to stop at all. I think its just a warning light. I called BMW and they said the warning light comes on when you have 1-2k miles left before it needs replacement. Hasn't been that long

they also told me it would be $600 and I didn't even ask about the coolant part.

so ya, anybody have a recommendation for a reputable shop that works with BMWs and could save me some $$??

thanks!

Stop wasting money on coolant. Just add water.

Make that distilled water and you're right on.

Actually, since you added coolant last time, you want to use water this time. It's supposed to be a 50/50 mix of coolant and water anyway so this will just bring the mix closer to the appropriate levels.

Good lord. Four OEM Brembo rotors for my e30 were like $130 from Carquest and the pads were ~$50 front and ~$30 rear iirc. Definitely talk to one of the garagers on that one.

I mean...I can do it for like a grand.
