Robb:

hello
Wolff:

as i stroke myself, all i can think about is that long cucumber
Wolff:

shit
Wolff:

sorry, wrong window
Robb:

is there anything i can do to help you?
Wolff:

yeah
Wolff:

Why, if the American Indians were descended from Lehi, was there such diversity in their languages, and why were there no vestiges of Hebrew in any of them?
Robb:

because language changes throughout time, there are many of different langauges in the world today, its just like today how people decide to add slang in there own langauges.
Wolff:

Why does the Book of Mormon say that Lehi found horses when he arrived in America? The horse did not exist in the Americas until the Spaniards brought them over in the sixteenth century.
Robb:

i'm not a history major, and i dont really know the answer to that question. why do you ask?
Wolff:

I'm struggling with some obvious discrepancies in the book of mormon.
Wolff:

# # Why was Nephi stated to have a bow of steel? Jews did not have steel at that time, and no iron was smelted in the Americas until the Spanish colonization.
Robb:

there are answers to all these questions. but before we understand the questions you have, we have to first understand the principles of the gospel. what do you know about the church of jesus christ of latter day saints?
Wolff:

answer the questions before we get any further into gospel. they are independent from one another.
Robb:

there are answer to these questions, but they have little bearing on my purpose of sharing the restored gospel. so these questions may be important, but principles to the gospel are more important to our salvation.
Wolff:

you seem to be dodging questions, that should be easily deduced, in order to change the subject onto something more profound and ultimately unchallengeable.
Robb:

these questions can be hard to understand, but if we have faith that the book of mormon is true and that christ really did appear to the nephites, then these questions are not so important for us to understand. but they can be answered. unforunately i do
Robb:

not have all the answers to your questions.
Wolff:

faith is something reserved for the intangible.
Wolff:

this book, which is the core of that faith, seems to have huge cracks in it.
Wolff:

so while neither you or I may be a history major
Wolff:

it isnt difficult to recognize them.
Robb:

can i ask you if you are reading the book of mormon to find faults in our church, or are you reading it to find the truth for yourself?
Wolff:

i read it with an open and educated mind
Wolff:

regardless of my intentions, the questions remain
Robb:

so did you snicerely pray about it to know if it was true?
Wolff:

to read a book solely to look for faults is not malicious, however.
Wolff:

especially if that book will establish itself at the core of my beliefs
Wolff:

I did not pray about the book. I comprehended the book and made observations in it's discrepancies. should i pray that these are just minor oversights and that the book has errors but is still on point with its message?
Robb:

ok
Robb:

Of course...
Wolff:

i hate to dwell on the details, but a house is only as strong as the bricks that make it.

Robb:

Wether there was steel or horse or whatever is not the doctrine of Christ...read the book...Does it contain the words of Christ....
Wolff:

then why are they referenced at all?

Hi Eric, How may i help you today?
Eric:
Why should i believe in a silly man who wrote a book by sticking his head in a hat and pretending to hear the word of god?
Christopher:
The BOM is powerful evidence of the divinity of Christ. Joseph was the translater. It is the word of God, another testament of Jesus Christ
Eric:
who is this god guy anyway, and why did he give aids to black people? does god hate black people?

What hasn't the internet exploited this more? I guess in all honesty, the Scientologists are the ones to hate on these days. I used to date a Mormon though....

these further verify the complete lack of knowledge that is otherwise assumed

Hello, How may I help you?
Meme:
what doth take place?
Leif:
Proclaiming the Gospel
Meme:
you must answer me these questions 3:
Meme:
1) what is your name
Leif:
Alright, I'll do my best
Leif:
My name is Leif
Meme:
what is your favorite color?
Leif:
Favorite color would be Green
Meme:
what is the airspeed velocity of an unladen swallow?
Leif:
Not really sure, do you know?
Meme:
to the pit of doom for you.
Meme:
why did god create aids?
Leif:
really? how do you figure so?
Meme:
and why did he give it to africans?
Meme:
?
Leif:
We may not comprehend all that God does, but I believe that He does what He does for his own reason. He puts things in our lives to test us and try us so that He can prove our hearts and desires.
Leif:
Aids, along with other trials we face, are put in our lives to give us experience and help us grow and progress to return to our Heavenly father
Meme:
What experience helps you grow quite like certain death and a life of suffering?
Leif:
It is how we act during these rough and tough times that prove us
Meme:
if god is an all-powerful being, could he create a rock so massive that he could not move it?
Leif:
Yes and no, if God is all-power he could create a rock that big, but he would also have power to move it aswell
Meme:
then he cannot create a rock so massive that he cannot move it so there are limits to his power
Meme:
so he isn't an all-powerful god
Meme:
or is it a she?
Leif:
He is all powerful
Meme:
then why can't he make a rock so massive he cannot move it?
Leif:
God is a "He"
Leif:
Honestly, I do not know the workings or mysteries of God, but I hope to one day
Meme:
If he is a loving god, why do people go to hell?
Leif:
There are only few who will go to hell. Everyone who has ever lived on this earth or will ever live on it will go to a spirit world where everyone will have an opportunity to accept the teachings of the gospel and come unto Christ
Meme:
why would god allow Jimi Hendrix, John Bonham, and Jim Morrison to be taken from us so early?
Leif:
Not sure if God "allowed" them to be taken away from us, their deaths were a result of the lifestyles which the lived
Meme:
maybe god wanted their talents all for himself?
Leif:
God is not selfish, maybe they had finished what they came to this life to do, they fulfilled their purpose
Meme:
who is the greatest guitarist of all time?
Leif:
theres too many talented people to choose from.
Meme:
is jesus a better guitarist than jimmy page?
Leif:
My purpose is to bring others unto Christ, do you have any questions about our religion
Meme:
Are the statements made of Mormons in South Park accruate?
Leif:
Like what statements?
Meme:
the whole sticking your head in a hat to hear the word of god
Meme:
activated by putting some rocks in the hat
Meme:
only mormons go to heaven
Leif:
Joseph Smith was given the power of God in order to be able to translate the words of God
Leif:
Only mormons will live with God again, others who live honourable lives will go to heaven but not live in gods presence, and those who continue in sin will still recieve a kingdom in heaven, just not as glorious as the rest
Meme:
do all dogs go to heaven?
Leif:
not sure if animals will come to heaven or not.

I'm not saying who does and does not believe in God on this board, and in this thread... or who is a Christian, and who isn't.

but man, it sure is fucked up how so many people complain about Christians pushing their beliefs on non-Christians... and here we have people going out of their way to fuck with Mormons in this thread
