11/12/2009 8:40:19 AM
hell yeah. downtown portsmouth is insane. most of the roads/tunnels are straight up closed.
11/12/2009 8:41:38 AM
I was just remembering there was a tunnel around there across the peninsula. Might call the uncle today and see whats up - he's over in Hampton. What do you do there? Work at the shipyards or National Guard, Navy, Coasties?
11/12/2009 8:46:38 AM
P-Town always gets it bad
11/12/2009 8:55:43 AM
Ha, I'm in p-town right now. I tried to get to the yard myself, but I couldn't make it. Streets were all flooded to hell and I kept running into spots where cops closed the road. I realize now I could've taken 17 into work, but seriously I don't wanna get trapped there. I'm definitely non-essential. Stay safe, lefty.[Edited on November 12, 2009 at 8:59 AM. Reason : ^^ NNSY]
11/12/2009 8:58:54 AM
^^bullshiti grew up in franklin during the 26.3 ft. record in 1999 on the blackwater, downtown was uner 19 feet of water, something like 20 inches of rain in 18 hours from hurricane floyd after two other major storms in less than a week[Edited on November 12, 2009 at 9:01 AM. Reason : we have had 4 floods of 16'+ in the past 10 years][Edited on November 12, 2009 at 9:04 AM. Reason : pic, dad's motorcycle shop is in the top left corner]
11/12/2009 8:59:26 AM
Clayton., NC. Over flood stage.
11/12/2009 9:02:05 AM
yeah. i work at NNSY in the reactor servicing dept. im planning on leaving at lunch time (low tide) so that i dont have to fight the rush hour/high tide flood this evening.liberal leave has been announced.
11/12/2009 9:06:40 AM
Liberal leave is some bullshit. Should be admin leave. Making it liberal leave just means there'll be a huge pile of people at work who get trapped and cause a big traffic snarl when they try to leave.Hopefully most people have enough sense to leave early. >_<
11/12/2009 9:10:22 AM
Parts of the mixing bowl in Springfield are under water. Morning rush hour worse than usual [Edited on November 12, 2009 at 9:14 AM. Reason : .]
11/12/2009 9:13:02 AM
I hear admin leave was just issued. WTG shipyard. Dragged a bunch of people to work for 2 hours of nothing.WHATEVER, I thought this flood wouldn't be this bad. Get home safe lefty. :E
11/12/2009 9:57:19 AM
OMG!!! a flood, during a hurricane?????? NO FUCKING WAY!
11/12/2009 10:00:40 AM
Relentless rains lead Va. gov to declare emergencyhttp://tinyurl.com/yak4gyw
11/12/2009 10:02:31 AM

11/12/2009 11:39:44 AM

11/12/2009 11:42:47 AM

I hope that whole hampton roads area goes under water, everybody drowns, and all the shit and scum built over the years is washed away.

11/12/2009 12:33:39 PM

11/12/2009 12:43:24 PM
graphs look like they're making the tidal turn, not looking good at all for you guys
11/12/2009 12:59:24 PM
all this rain is due to ex-hurricane Ida. made landfall somewhere on the gulf coast iirc, then is creepin its way up our asses
11/12/2009 1:00:50 PM
It's a TD, not a hurricane. I don't care what something "was" 1000 miles from here 3 days ago.
11/12/2009 1:02:39 PM
^^^^ that was in reference to 69's post. just seemed like the kind of guy who always tries to one up the story whether it is relevant or not.
11/12/2009 2:30:17 PM
