i believe there is reason to even the most illogical of actions

it may not seem sensible but in someones head it makes sense and if you can understand them then you can understand that process

does this imply that there is no such thing as people who make irrational decisions?

unless you can say that some people make irrational decisions just to make irrational decisions

but any decision, no matter how irrational, is driven by something, even if it is an irrational impulse

I like how saps just rolls up to teedub all of the sudden like a psych guru.

Why don't you offer personality assessments?

I don't think you can completely figure anyone out, yourself or others, but I like when people try. Sometimes other people figure out things about me I haven't realized yet, and it's freaky in a good way.

It's possible, but difficult to determine the reasons for behaviors after they occur, but nearly impossible to predict future behaviors.

i think you're confusing the concept that there is nothing that is truly random with there being discernible reason behind all events. Everything has a cause or is formulated from some sort of previous response, but there are too many variables for the causation and as such cannot necessarily be figured out.

Not necessarily. Humans are creatures of habit.

There's a "having" and "doing" personality theory by Gordon Allport that addresses the fact that people's traits have a strong biological factor and are the "having", but goals are the "doing" of personality and can change how the traits manifest themselves in a person.

I wish some of these people who claim they can figure people out would figure out my girlfriend for me, and relay the info.

^3 but if my habit is to carry out my first immediate thought as a response for any situation that doesn't mean one can figure it out, or even understand my actions because a multitude of calculations takes place before we can even realize our own thoughts.

so, yes, creatures of habit, but if you're habit is being out impulsive as fuck then there is no real conclusion that can be drawn.

if you know someones past and their circumstances

then yeah, you can pretty much know what they're going to do

the whole idea of which really sucks

I'm going to say no because some people just won't tell you everything.

If people are honest about their past and why they did certain thing or why certain things happen, they can easily be figured out.

But I've been in a few situations where someone would do something and I'd be like, "now how the fuck did that happen." Only to find out later that there was something I didn't know about or something they were keeping to themselves.

I'm pretty good at figuring people...but sometimes you need information that is missing.
