Ratio of PB:Jelly must be < 1.

Jelly must be strawberry.

Someone counterpoint, as long as your name isn't evan. I know your half-baked opinion already.

Never used anything but grape.

I usually put more peanut butter...but I don't jew it up with the jelly either. I feel like its the perfect ratio for my tastes.

I use that sugar free jelly, so I'm usually limited to strawberry, but I might try something like a seedless blackberry sometime. It's just that strawberry has always been the "standard".

Crunchy PB definitely, forgot to define that. I'll usually use a good 2-knife slab, enough to cover the bread, but then i just have a slightly thicker layer of jelly. I hate "bready" sandwiches, so PB&J usually ends up being a fair amount of both.

I use the jelly to "wet" the sandwhich. PB is quite sticky and dry, so I even it out with the jelly. I make sure to have a good 2mm of PB, which enough jelly to compliment. Yum! Crunch is where it's at.

You are cool in my book Muzition00

Sometimes I'll go rogue and use Honey instead of Jam though...

Well.... I've got some nutella here cause my wife likes it, but I despise it... DESPISE IT. I used to like it, then something changed and I hated it.

As for grape jelly, I think what it is is that I want some kind of fruit or texture in the jelly. Grape is just... jelly. I like little bits of fruit and stuff in with it... so perhaps it is correct to say I like jam.

the jelly must be grape

jelly to pb ratio 2:1 and often times mixed together to form one conglomeration and eaten on toasted bread. Cut in two rectangle halves.

^ I can't stand that. It tastes different when you mix them together. My dad does that nastiness.

I can't explain it, but it does taste different when you mix it.

fuck rectangle halves.

triangles > rectangles. only thing you got right was that 2:1 jelly to pb

and NO CHUNKY PEANUT BUTTA, okay sometimes chunky but NOT MORE THAN 50% OF THE TIME.

haha, Astral... I actually like hazelnut. Hazelnut and chocolat is a GREAT combination, but for some reason I just dont like... Nutella. It's weird. I think I might have eaten too much of it once and it just made me feel sick, and since then I havent wanted any.

Also, not to derail the thread, but a family friend who used to babysit me when I was young would, as a snack, take a banana and mash it up all chunky like with a fork in a bowl. Then, she would take a spoonful of PB and whip it together, and I'd just eat it out of the bowl. Of course, she also let us eat cold hot dogs (which, I know theyre already cooked) right out of the package.

And as much as I love crunchy peanut butter...it is sometimes a bitch to spread on soft bread and can fuck up a slice.

Seeing that as a possibility, I chose a long time ago to stop trying to use crunchy peanut butter on my PB&J sammiches.

As long as there's not so much jelly that it bulges or leaks when I pick up the sandwich, I'm fine. Leaky sanwiches make me really anxious

If I am feeling industrious i mix one jar of jelly (grape) with one jar of PB (smooth peter pan). then either eat out of a bowl until satiated and use the rest on a sandwich later or put it on a sandwich then and eat it. Mixing it does make it taste different. Better in my opinion.

If i am feeling lazy just crunchy PB (peterpan) with sqeeze jelly (strawberry or grape) on bread. A shit ton of both.

Mandatory big ass glass of milk with either method.

The perfect PB&J, for me, consists of creamy peanut butter (preferably JIF) with raspberry preserves, on Arnold Dutch Country wheat bread. Yes I realize this is very specific, but in my book that is the ideal bread for PB&J.

Excellent variations include strawberry preserves instead of raspberry, and/or sourdough or rye bread. Also I usually use natural peanut butter b/c it's better for you, though the texture isn't as good as the classic creamy.

PB layer must be spread thick. Good amount of jelly but not enough to leak. The ideal PB&J should be a substantial sandwich.

Glass of ice cold milk to finish it off. 2%.
