we weekend 2 weekends ago. it was sooo nice, the weather was perfect. the water was still barely warm enough that you could walk in it upto your knees. they've gotten a lot of rain lately though and there's been some flooding.

Z and I went last weekend to go find houses for next year's sorry-we-eloped-here's-a-two-family-vacation-in-lieu-of-reception horror/trip. We were going to go down and look for houses between rodanthe and hatteras.


...12 is washed out north of Rodanthe. No worries: even in nasty weather, the beach is still 100% win

So we're going down right after thanksgiving, and hoping like hell 12 is repaired; otherwise, renting/borrowing a 4-wheel drive vehicle, since the alternate for 12 is currently a single lane on the beach.

the only people looking at it are nasty guido new jersey people. which makes me sad. because i don't want them to change it. luckily they can't change much, but i don't want someone else to own it. i wish i had a million dollars (times 5). ugh. but my grandmother is old and it is a money pit so i guess it has to go

I got sick one year because my wife (g/f at the time) convinced me to go to the beach. It was like low 40's and 2am or so in the morning... But damn, random night trips to the beach is where it's at. And this time of year, it can still be warm enough and there's no one out, so it's like having an entire beach to yourself

I love Atlantic Beach.
