It's 140/80.

Now let me eat my salt in peace, dammit.

Well, it's a little high, but it sure ain't 200/100.

And changing my salt habit doesn't change a thing...

shit. 140/80 wasn't high back in the day... say before all these blood pressure medicines hit the market.... it's amazing how that works.

Anyway, it's not the salt that you put on your food that's the problem. It's all of the sodium in the processed foods that you eat that usually kicks up your blood pressure.

yeah, salt and blood pressure is more or less bullshit. they suggest lay off of the salt because it could lead to water retention and as a result put more stress on your walls. rarely does this actually happen.

if you're getting 4000mg a day, sure. if you're getting under 2500 (incredibly easy to achieve without even eating that healthy) then you don't have an issue.

Mine was 117/65 the last time I checked iirc. Never had a problem with it except when I took some medication that made it shoot through the roof.

I <3 salt, but I do feel bloated if I eat too much of it. The past three mornings I've had scrambled eggs for breakfast and chicken/rice type stuff for dinner which I load up with salt. I seriously think I can feel the water retention.

Oh, and I salted the fuck out of my pasta tonight.

i eat way too much sodium.

like an embarassing amount.

and my blood pressure is about 90/60.

also, by changing your whole lifestyle usually only reduces your bp slightly.
it appears to be amazingly genetic (don't get me wrong there is still a factor played in TLC {terapeutic lifestyle changes})...but its not as big as it seems people think it is.

Medication management therapy FTW

my BC raises my bp a little bit

i dunno if that is normal

though it seems like it might be cause women with high bp aren't supposed to take bc

anyway, yea...i eat tons of salt too. i'm not big on sweets. for dessert i'm debating between a pickle, cheese or popcorn

oh shit, just remembered i had black olives

and i ate french onion soup for dinner. SALT SALT SALT!!!!

Hellz to tha YEAH. This is how I like my salt.

I seriously think if I dropped 30 pounds, my blood pressure would be better. I'm seriously unmotivated right now...and it sucks.

Same here. All of my meals include salsa, soup, olives or pickles. And blood pressure is consistently 90/60. Standing up too quickly is dangerous. Usually bc I drink a lot. But also bc everything just goes black from blood pressure fluctuations.

I'm so glad that I'm not alone. I haven't fainted yet, but I came very close recently in the shower. It was steamy and I'd been bent over for a few minutes making sure that Silas was clean and when I stood back up I almost lost it.

I take it you don't give blood. Probably a good idea. I gave last Thursday and fainted three times. The second time, I was home alone and seriously thought I was going to die. It's scary when you're home alone (or even worse, with your baby). That's what finally convinced me to get a roommate last week.

My GF dumps salt on everything she eats. It drives me nuts because she salts shit before she even tastes it.

And her BP is perfect, which also drives me nuts

My dad used to scold us when we did this as kids. It's an insult to the cook if you're salting food before you even taste it.

You're right, except for one thing. Pure potassium chloride tastes like weak sodium chloride with a slightly bitter, off, aftertaste. It's just not the same.

Even Morton's Lite Salt, which is about 50/50, isn't quite the same, though infinitely better than the pure KCl.

well, you're absolutely right if you consider that if it weren't for sodium, potassium, and calcium, we'd just collapse in a pile of quivering muscle tissue.

I thought about LiCl...if it weren't for its neurotoxicity in higher doses...I mean, I could likely use a dose of lithium anyway.
