In honor of the Twilight Twink stealing all of the headlines recently, I thought it would appropriate to show the pithering masses what a real vampire movie is all aboutI have not seen either Twilight, so its not part of either listIn no particular order:BladeLost BoysInterview with a Vampire30 days of NightJohn Carpenter's VampiresBram Stoker's DraculaFrom Dusk till DawnLet the Right One InSalem's LotShadow of the VampireVampire in BrooklynQueen of the DamnedBlade: TrinityDracula 2000Lost Boys: The Tribe

blade and the one with blackcula are the only ones i've seen
11/24/2009 10:27:18 AM
I seriously don't get the fascination with vampires. i find nothing sexy about it, whatsoever.
11/24/2009 10:27:30 AM
is dracula 2000 the one with leslie nielson?cause whichever vampire flick had him in it is my favorite. and the one with george hamilton is #2

It's not a movie, but I'm not seeing True Blood on either of your lists.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UU7Vp_OZyEwfollowed by...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ntfoPfK-gqc[Edited on November 24, 2009 at 10:32 AM. Reason : ][Edited on November 24, 2009 at 10:35 AM. Reason : ]

It's not a movie. If you wanted to count the seasons as extended movies I would put the first one in the top 10 and the second one in the bottom 5.
11/24/2009 10:34:51 AM
I said it wasn't a movie, but part of the "new" vampire hype is also due to True Blood...just sayin'
11/24/2009 10:36:25 AM
I can't believe this gem was overlooked:
11/24/2009 10:49:03 AM
Underworld series? Kate Beckinsale is sexy
11/24/2009 11:13:37 AM
Underworld movies are cheap campy garbageFun to watch if there's nothing else on, but closer to the bottom than that top in the overall scope of Vamp flicks
11/24/2009 11:16:04 AM
i liked the underworld trilogy and I liked queen of the damned... visually appealing to me
11/24/2009 11:18:52 AM
Listen you stupid fucksYou don't watch Vampire movies because of Kate Beckinsale and AaliyahYou watch them because of the quality of the narrative Jesus Christ

Buffy (the movie) was pretty good I guess.
11/24/2009 11:33:17 AM
No, the Buffy movie was pretty bad. If we are considering series though, it and Angel are both in the Top 10. I agree with the OP list otherwise, although its actually "Interview with THE Vampire"
11/24/2009 11:53:10 AM
I actually didn't like the series at all, I guess it's just me.And I thought the one with Keanu Reeves and Anthony Hopkins was unintentionally hilarious."I am dracula, behold my head-boobs and despair!"[Edited on November 24, 2009 at 12:00 PM. Reason : I guess I just can't take vampires seriously]

It saddens me that Fright Night I & II are not on this list.
11/24/2009 12:08:07 PM
I've yet to see the comparisons on the teevee that I want to see1) everything sucks compared to Bram Stoker's Dracula2) which is gayer this new stuff or Interview with a Vampire (which is awesome though)
11/24/2009 12:32:13 PM
Top 10 and Bottom 5 at the same time.
11/24/2009 12:37:25 PM
^^There is a lot of homoerotica in Interview With the Vampire but the vampires in it were French/from the 1700s where those kind of shenanigans were a little more acceptable. And even though there is a bit of gheyness it fits along with the story quite well. My gf made me watch the first Twilight movie last week (It actually turned out to be comedic gold. I couldn't stop laughing. I recommend it for a good lol) and it is reeeeeeeeeeeally ghey.[Edited on November 24, 2009 at 12:53 PM. Reason : ]

30 Days of Night was fucking stupid. Vampires are supposed to drink blood, not just slash throats and run around. That movie is the equivalent of a fat guy in a Golden Corral running around throwing yeast rolls and chicken wings on the floor.
11/24/2009 12:44:33 PM
and how exactly is that not an awesome premise for a movie?I'm AstralAdvent and i approved this message.
11/24/2009 12:45:20 PM
spooky, they had an agenda in that movie...They weren't there simply to feed, they were there to slaughter the town and then disappear in order to preserve modern humanity's belief that vampires are "only bad dreams" and nothing more. The refused to "turn" any of the town's residents, even when they requested to be turned

Top 10:1. Lost Boys2. Dracula (Lugosi)3. Blade II4. Interview with a Vampire5. 30 Days of Night6. Blade7. From Dusk til Dawn8. Fright Night9. Underworld10. Near DarkBottom 5:5. Monster Squad (even thought it was hokey back then)4. The Hunger (not even Bowie and a Sarandon/ Deneuve Lesbian scene could save this one)3. Vampire in Brooklyn (Eddie, Eddie, Eddie)2. Buffy the Vampire Slayer (way too cheesy for my tastes)1. Let the Right One In (terrible. most pretentious vampire movie ever.)
