I am pretty sure that the gravy people were using at my family's dinner was just cream of chicken soup from a can partially thinned out with water. I was sort of weirded out by it.

^^ That sounds foul, especially considering they sell canned gravy

They had a jar of gravy all ready to go in a gravy boat. Then I heard my aunt say "but I'd rather have something homemade than the stuff from a jar" to the woman who did the soup stuff. Which makes no sense.

She could have added something else, but I walked by once and she had a can of soup out and I walked by again 3 minutes later and she had a bowl of really pale yellowish "gravy"

^what did you eat an hour later? since, you know, noodles and salad fills you up for a total of one hour.

we didn't have gravy. It was still amazing

Greenbean casserole (with those onion fry things on top) and sweet potato casserole took home the blue ribbon. Red easily goes to the homemade pumpkin roll. Tie to yellow with the turkey and the mashed potatoes.

I smoked a couple of pork shoulders the day before, and made some sauce (eastern nc style) and dug into that. I don't dig on fowl.
