two of my good friends started "talking" - she had herpes but refused to tell the guy. one day she got him drunk and had sex with him. I told her that was really wrong and she needed to tell him NOW. I gave her many opportunities, but she still refused and continued to sleep with him.

I tried to bring it up casually, asking about the last time he was tested and whatnot, and she would lie to his face saying she was clean.

so one day I told him.

he broke up with her and she was really mad at me, but I didn't feel bad. I still don't.

I dated someone that had genital warts and actually decided to take my time with the sex part to make sure the relationship wasn't screwed up. Later on one of her friend's boyfriends asked me "aren't you worried about the warts?" and i was like... whosawhatsit? warts? lol anyway needless to say she'd lied to me about not having them. or rather more a lie of omission since she never brought it up. either way that was the deathblow.

The CDC states that HPV is so common that at least 50% of all sexually active adults have contracted HPV at some point in their lives. There are dozens of different strains of HPV, some causing cancer, some causing extremely noticeable lesions, others that are virtually invisible. And since it is a virus, it is incurable though most people's immune systems tend to kick it into dormancy after infection. If you do not want to date someone who has had contact with HPV, then you should probably start dating virgins.
