an advantage of being married if you're a man is that you never have to shop for gifts for anyone.Sometimes a family member will thank me for a gift, and I'll be like, "so what did I get you?"[Edited on December 2, 2009 at 2:32 PM. Reason : saf]

One thing that sucks about being single with a married sibling is you're expected (or at least I'm expected) to get something for the brother, the sister in law, the nephew. And they just get me a gift "from all of us"This especially sucks when you're in college and have 2 brothers with this same situation.[Edited on December 2, 2009 at 2:46 PM. Reason : Not that I want more gifts, I just want to give less gifts]

i should have clarified, its not that i go out and buy gifts for all my friends, that's ridiculousbut there are a couple friends who, for whatever reason, get me things every year, so i get them something. nothing expensive, but for instance, one of my friends has a robust bar and drinks a lot of scotch and whiskey, and so i got him some whiskey stones, and was like, wait a minute, i would like some of those too. boom quantity: 2 on amazon.same for whatever i get my brother
