Even when I get a gift card it is never the same as having a real present to open/play with/look at/etc on christmas day. I don't think it is lazy because you still have to purchase the gift card but it is not as enjoyable and entertaining on christmas when it really matters most.

I enjoy gift cards, but I'm starting to get to the point where I'd rather my family give me a gift that just involves going somewhere to do something with them. I don't get to see my family as much as I used to, so any excuse to see them and do something means more than a physical gift.
