I figure most people fall under 1 of 3 categories

A) Treat it like their baby

B) Enough to be presentable and not embarrass themselves

C) Like their own personal cesspool

I'm usually a solid B, but lately I've been falling into C territory. Just this morning I found a gatorade bottle full of urine in the back seat that I dated back to nearly a week ago

Now granted, the lid was on tight, so crisis averted, but it made realize I needed to get my act together

B.

I always keep the inside clean.

during the spring and summer i always have it washed and clean but once it cools down i neglect washing it for much of the winter. I desperately need to though

if you had to pee in a gatorade bottle why would you not empty the contents on the highway soon after in such a way that it might spray onto the car behind you? they might even have a window open so they get pee on themselves.

I generally have about 3 outfits (workout clothes, work clothes and cute going-out clothes) in the trunk of my car at any time, plus my tennis and golf equipment. Orlando is so spread out that most days I can't go home to change before a date/gym/social event.

Don't be stupid. I don't wear the same clothes twice.

And we have showers at work, so if I need to shower between work/date/whatever, I shower at work.

Interior: Once or twice a month it's an A. Then it slowly drifts to B status.
Exterior: Once every two months it's an A. Then it becomes a B very quickly.

There wouldn't ever be a bottle laying around in my car to piss in.

B, but the car is really old and starting to look pretty funky on the outside (206,000 miles will do that to a car)

2 bags of disc golf gear
1 large tarp
1 towel
1 foldable camping chair
1 set of jumper cables
1 battery backup thing
1 tripod stool
1 snow scraper
1 dog water bowl
1 car maintenance guide
lots of tennis balls
lots of dirt and debris

idk, it's a tough one.

it's generally pretty clutter free, if you consider clutter things like empty bottles and shoes and shit

it's been way down hill though

and having a white dog with black interior is a disaster

but honestly, since i wrecked the fuck out of it i find it very hard to give a shit

I have some garbage in the form of 1-2 gatorade bottles and a ton of parking permits from the healthcenter in my passenger foot area, and the exterior is in dire need of a wash. I keep it fairly presentable though

B to B -

i mean its not like there's shit in there (literal shit)

but sometimes i leave cups or coffee mugs in it for weeks at a time

and water bottles

god only knows what is in my trunk. like 8 jackets, 5 blankets, a sleeping bag, tennis stuff, shoes, about 500 cds

but no one sees the trunk so we're good!

Between B and C.

It's not as empty as I'd like it, but I have days where I'm in my car more than at home, and I'm never prompt about cleaning it out.

I'm a lot better than I used to be, though. Used to be it looked like a huge fucking mess, and it really was. Cleaning it out was a 2hr chore.

Now, it's <10 minutes.

But I care for it: I keep a sheet over the back seat, and wash it, for transporting pets. I keep rubber mats down all the time. I detail the shit out of it at least once every couple of times, and I light clean the interior pretty often.

I'm glad I have an SUV and not a car with a separate trunk

because I would ignore it for weeks on end and litterally have mold encrusted pubes on my golf clubs

No matter what car I'm driving I'm a solid a or sometimes on the verge of a B.

I don't care what it is or what anyone thinks. I wash and vacuum the car no less than 4 times a month. I keep a jacket a tool box and sometimes a ohine charger in a car.

When I think of C, I think of those people who literally have crap in their car up to the level of their windows, or higher.

Very often, you'll see fast food wrappers in that mess

We never leave any trash in the car, but I think there's probably a book in the back seat, and pens in the side compartments.

Inside: A-B. I try to keep the inside contents to a minimum (i.e. nothing but maybe an umbrella or ice scraper in the floorboard, maybe a jacket or a book on the passenger seat) but right now there is a stray cup and a mcdonald's bag in the passenger floorboard.

Outside: B-C. Used to be pretty good good about keeping the outside up and would take it to Bunkey's monthly for a full service wash, wash/dry/tire shine it by hand in between if needed. More recently not so good--I washed it about 3 weeks ago, for the first time in several months. And, embarrassingly, I haven't ever waxed it and I've owned the car for 3 years.
