mine started life as a two-tone blue and white blazer. then it was wrecked and repossessed and my dad and i got it for $labor for building a race engine for a finance company that had a few local round track cars. i bought a gray 89 2 door with a blown motor that hadn't been wrecked for $100 and put the whole front end from the 89 on the 91. then we painted the whole thing white

my favorite memory of fixing that thing up was sitting it it w/ all the interior stripped out and beating the door post back out with a sledge hammer and my dad eyeballing it hollering "hit it harder. you got a long way to go before that door'll shut!"

I named it Bobo.

(-) a side mirror when a university van sideswiped it while it was parked. I pocketed the insurance money...good thing, since the car died shortly thereafter - transmission went out.

93 VW Corrado VR6

Looked exactly like this, pretty sweet car for high school. Heated seats, 5spd, etc

The cocksucker that sold it to me didn't tell us it was in a wreck though. It was in the shop about half the time I owned it. It was fun when it worked though.

JK, rtc407, dubcaps and Joie--not too shabby for first cars, these four.

Mine:

1979 Chevy Malibu. 267 V8/TH200 3-spd automatic. Grandfather bought new, gave to my mom in '86 and she drove it for much of my childhood, given to me in '96 when I got my license. I drove it until 2001 when the engine quit at 174K miles. I still own it, but it's been in storage for a long time, waiting for an eventual resurrection. But every time I think about it, I'm glad I still have it.

If you owned a Corrado that was only broke 50% of the time you beat the average. Maybe the wreck gave it some fresh parts that kept it from being in the shop 70% of the time.

1989 VW Golf. The ceiling on it was coming loose so I had to constantly staple/pin/glue/tape it back up to the roof.

It had 235,000 miles on it when I hit an F150 head on in the middle of an ice storm, on my way to a school that should have been closed anyways.

I actually found it recently...the owner is thinking about selling it. I asked him how much, and he said $6000.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

It's in pretty shitty condition now...badly needs paint, new interior, new vinyl top, and new rear quarter panels at a minimum. That's just what I can see at a glance...who knows about mechanical stuff.

He completely neglected it and really let it go to hell, and now wants to sell it for more than I sold it to him for, hahahaha.

Oh well, it's not like anyone else is going to buy it...maybe one day he'll decide to sell it for $1000 or whatever, and I'll get it back and resto-mod it.
