#1, Chapel Hill, North Carolina

Major College: University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill
Total Population: 54,972
Percent Students: 33%
Overall Grade: A

Home to the oldest state college in the U.S., "Chapel Thrill" combines an antique Southern charm with nationally recognized research facilities as one part of Research Triangle Park (with Durham and Raleigh, homes of Duke and North Carolina State, respectively). The city has the highest percentage of adults over age 25 with graduate degrees, at 44 percent. The academic capital in a state historically dominated by agricultural and textiles, it attracts top talent for the business and medical schools.

I stop listening to people as soon as they say Chapel Thrill

My roommate sophomore year would tell me he would be heading up to Chapel Thrill in the evening, then tell me stuff he would do there, but I had already tuned him out.

Thats a detriment, IMO

Half the fun of raleigh was getting into arguments with the old retards at Sammy's, Playmakers's and Bada

Well, they already named Raleigh-Durham America's smartest city... or I'm going to pretend they were thinking "metro population".

I mean, The Daily Beast isn't exactly my number one source for all things academic.
