You know Chris Henry isn't dead and that's a pic of Terrell Owens, right? I feel like there is a point to this thread and I'm missing it.

what a touching article by the charlotte observer

Quote :
"Loleini Tonga's MySpace page is filled with words of excitement over her pending marriage to Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Chris Henry.

She talked about buying wedding rings, outfitting bridesmaids and hiring a wedding photographer.

Henry died early this morning after what police described as a domestic situation Wednesday in Charlotte that involved a pickup truck. No one has been charged, but police are investigating the Peachtree Road accident. They say Henry jumped into the bed of a truck with Tonga behind the steering wheel, and he fell out.

Tonga's latest MySpace post, at 1 a.m. Wednesday, is titled “MRS..1…5*** canT get No betta.” Henry wore No. 15.

She posted: “Mrs. C. Henry Jus put deposIt down 4 weDDing piCs... Paid 4 ouR riNgs... Bout 2 eaT wiT my maN n bay bayz.... Startin 2 geT a headache thinKing bouT dis weddin.. I need A cuP.”

Henry was on injured reserve. The Bengal's Web site says the two were scheduled to be married in March. They have three young children together. They were in Charlotte visiting Tonga's parents, who live here.

The MySpace page says Tonga graduated from West Charlotte high in 2002, attended N.C. A&T in 2006 with a bachelor's degree in communications.

She lists her occupation as “MoNeY MAKeR!!! hoLLa at Me.” She lists here annual income as “$250,000 and higher.”"

"Cincinnati Bengals receiver Chris Henry died Thursday, a day after falling out of the back of a pickup truck during what police said was a domestic dispute with his fiancee."

did she...push him?

Quote :
"Henry was rushed to the hospital Wednesday after being found on a residential road. Police said the dispute began at a home about a half-mile away, and Henry jumped into the bed of the pickup truck as his fiancee was driving away from the residence."

oh...so jumped for it and missed, then?

Quote :
"Henry is engaged to Loleini Tonga, and the couple has been raising three children. Tonga's MySpace page identifies herself as "Mrs. C. Henry" and has a picture of her next to a person who appears to be Henry. She also has a post from Tuesday talking about buying wedding rings. A neighbor said Wednesday that the Tonga family owns the home where police say the incident began. Charlotte is home to his fiancee's parents."

well, if it's on myspace, it MUST be true!

exactly...which is the case for every other person that has ever died in the whole of history

as a member of the same species, i can find sadness in the loss of a life...but as an individual, his death is utterly meaningless...his life has made no impact on my own, and his death will be equally without impact

my point isn't his death isn't sad...rather, my point is that his death is no more or less sad than the death of every other human being that died today...i don't individually care about anyone who has died today (that i know of), and so knowing his name and seeing a picture doesn't make his death any more or less important than any others

what i find sad most of all are the people that feel an emotional attachment to a celebrity for the sole reason that they are a celebrity (not to say this is always the case...i'm just saying that in that case, it's pathetic)

like in those zombie movies when some undead decides to hold on to your ride, drooling blood, while you're trying to get away?

damn, that's scary

quagmire its not like he's one of my favorite players, but the simple fact is, if an NFL player dies, it is sports news...it has to do with sports...pretty simple concept
