a big truck.one that we could possibly use to tow a truck out of my driveway?
12/20/2009 12:46:56 PM
Hell, i could use my Accord. Seriously, I've done amazing things with just a car.On another note, I really miss my diesel. that thing would pull anything.
12/20/2009 12:48:33 PM
I have a Z71 Tahoe but its just for looks - I dont take it off road ever. Sorry, wish I could help.
12/20/2009 12:48:51 PM
I don't think she's asking you to take it off-road

^^^^I've towed buses out of ditches with just my bike.[Edited on December 20, 2009 at 12:51 PM. Reason : and that's because I didn't want to break the asphault with my bare feet]
12/20/2009 12:51:00 PM
the truck in question is an excalade ext. the battery has been going dead on it and cody couldnt figure out what the hell was going wrong. we took it to the shop. they supposedly fixed it (although they said it was just a dead battery-nothing was draining it...although we told them tthis has happened to THREE other batteries )worked well for about 5 days, now its dead againin the driveway blocking us in.we would get it towed but the cadilac place is closed and we dont want to just leave it up there.
12/20/2009 12:51:07 PM
ITS A Z-71 TAHOE, JOIE, YOU JUST GOTTA FUCK THIS GUY NOW
12/20/2009 12:51:23 PM
cody is furious.
12/20/2009 12:53:47 PM
if my truck wasn't already spoken for today, I'd offer to help sorry ms Joie
12/20/2009 12:54:22 PM
its oki figure someone on here has GOT to be able to helpmy cousin has a z71 but im saving him for last resort (hes in Dunn at the moment...)
12/20/2009 12:55:28 PM
yeah, that's what I have... can you jump it and get it going for a little bit, at least long enough to get to an autozone or sears or something?
12/20/2009 12:58:26 PM
Bad alternator perhaps? Take it off an run it up to autozone and they can test it for you.I could probably pull it out of the way with my Tacoma if it's just a matter of moving it down a driveway.
12/20/2009 12:59:23 PM
the way its parked in the driveway we cant jump it (uless someone wants to drive up here and even then we may not be able to b/c of tress)cody thinks it the starterwhatever the hell that is[Edited on December 20, 2009 at 1:01 PM. Reason : ^nope got the alternator test....its fine. ][Edited on December 20, 2009 at 1:01 PM. Reason : ^yeah all we need is to try and get it in the street so we can have something to drive today ]
12/20/2009 1:00:51 PM
i can get it out of your driveway, but that's as far as I can get it. I have plenty of vehicles that will pull it, but not down the road. PM me if you want.
12/20/2009 1:02:06 PM
yeah if you've already checked the alternator then it's prob the starter.
12/20/2009 1:08:05 PM
Sir...it's called a parasitic loss, and a damn starter doesn't really have a means of doing that. Unless yer an auto tech, shut your mouth...er...fingers.
12/20/2009 1:10:02 PM
do you have aaa?
12/20/2009 1:10:13 PM
heres what we are dealing with here:its slightly uphill.
12/20/2009 1:11:28 PM
^^i used to, but i chose to drop it when i lost my job.
12/20/2009 1:11:40 PM
if you know anyone who has it they should be able to let you use it. my battery died and a friend had aaa tow me home
12/20/2009 1:13:26 PM
yeah, but it's easier and probably quicker to ask someone here for help. we can help them out. plus we only want it towed about 20 feet.
12/20/2009 1:14:11 PM
Got a tow strap or rope? Cherokee would pull it down the driveway no problem. With a dolly, I'll take it anywhere in Wake.
12/20/2009 1:16:04 PM
i don't have a tow strap or a rope. i've got about an 8 foot length of chain though. i've got some tie downs, but those aren't gon' do shit.
12/20/2009 1:17:53 PM
if you have a rope ill try to pull it out with my civic. im not kidding, it would be amusing at least!
12/20/2009 1:18:40 PM
If the chain has hooks, that's all we need.
12/20/2009 1:19:03 PM
it's been going dead slowly?just for kicks try thistake a screwdriver and give each battery terminal a couple of good hard smacks. i fixed chixnhed's car like a bazillion times like thatperfect weather for it to lose contact thereand if that's not what is happening you are having something draining the battery while the car is off. seen it on quite a few NEW GM vehiclesmost mechanics will be reluctant to look up how to fix it online, so do a few searches and figure it out yourself. search "escalade" "grounding out" "draining battery" tell your mechanic "my old mechanic told me that was what it was but he like retired or something" or they'll just ignore you[Edited on December 20, 2009 at 1:23 PM. 12/20/2009 1:20:18 PM
^^it sure doesn't ^ill tell him [Edited on December 20, 2009 at 1:20 PM. Reason : ertrter]
12/20/2009 1:20:23 PM
Got any bolts that will fit through the links?
12/20/2009 1:21:22 PM
know someone with a jumpbox? I've got one but it died a while ago and I can't find my charger.
12/20/2009 1:21:46 PM
^^^^ the battery terminals are clean and the battery is brand new. i couldn't find anything to smack the starter with though.^^ i don't know. i'll check the shed. i should have some random junk in there.^ sure don't. not anywhere close anyway.[Edited on December 20, 2009 at 1:22 PM. Reason : k]
12/20/2009 1:22:10 PM
zxappeal is on the way right now...ill let yall know how it goes
12/20/2009 1:22:32 PM
damn i want to watch this.may be a dumb question : Why dont you take the battery in the white car in the truck, move the truck, put it back in the car?[Edited on December 20, 2009 at 1:24 PM. Reason : .]
12/20/2009 1:23:23 PM
I have a truck if you have a chain or tow strap.Where are you located? How far does it need to be towed?Does it need to be towed down a street or road?[Edited on December 20, 2009 at 1:23 PM. Reason : nm then]
12/20/2009 1:23:24 PM
I've got jumper cables, multimeter, some 3/8" rope (if the truck is in neutral, this will work, if it's not in neutral, we'll use the jumper cables to power the solenoid to shift it into neutral).
12/20/2009 1:23:55 PM
i've got a multimeter. i don't know how to check the relays though. i checked the fuses that i would think would be of concern and they look good.^^^ short answer is i don't think it's a battery problem.[Edited on December 20, 2009 at 1:26 PM. 12/20/2009 1:26:55 PM
Got a riding lawn mower?
12/20/2009 1:26:56 PM
nope. got 2 scooters.
12/20/2009 1:27:21 PM
Oh I swear. All you'd need is jumper cables, some rope and a riding mower to move it down your driveway.
12/20/2009 1:28:00 PM
has it ever cut off while it was running?
12/20/2009 1:28:16 PM
yeah drive the mower to work
12/20/2009 1:28:34 PM
Gotcha . Well if zx cant do it I can break out the great white hype!
12/20/2009 1:29:16 PM
^^^not that i know of, my brother has been driving it for the past year or so.^^^^we're trying to go up a hill though :-/[Edited on December 20, 2009 at 1:30 PM. Reason : rfgsdsd]
12/20/2009 1:30:04 PM
epic guys trying to help out just for a hug from Joie
12/20/2009 1:30:49 PM
they can have one from me too!
12/20/2009 1:31:10 PM
Got a grade on that hill? I'm guessing it's not enough that a mower can't pull a truck up a hill in the low gear. Mowers have a good bit of tug.
12/20/2009 1:31:23 PM
it's not that big of a hill. i don't know the exact grade though.
12/20/2009 1:32:08 PM
I just wanted a photo of a civic pulling an escalade. The hug from d7 was icing on the cake.
12/20/2009 1:32:16 PM
lol. we'll take a video with the camera.
