12/20/2009 10:27:02 PM

Why aren't you taking a bath or putting on some lotion instead of complaining.
12/20/2009 10:58:22 PM
^
12/20/2009 10:59:43 PM
i put on lotion (like every five seconds)and baths are terrible for dry skinDUH [Edited on December 20, 2009 at 11:00 PM. Reason : .]

if you want to be lubricated, you've come o the right place
12/20/2009 11:01:04 PM
^ i know right i don't think i'd go to the extreme measure of spreading mayo over my body or soliciting my skin to tww if i hadn't tried lotion yet
12/20/2009 11:02:00 PM

have you seen a dermatologist?what type of soap do you use?[Edited on December 20, 2009 at 11:05 PM. Reason : soap]
12/20/2009 11:04:39 PM
HELLO PAUL1984 aren't you going to come back and defend yourself?!geez, i can't get lubricant OR a good argument. what is tww good for anyway^ no. i'm starting to think i should. putting on pants is like excruciating for my poor skin. i don't think it is eczema cause don't you get a rash with that? just moisturizing body wash (like the lotiony kind. no bar soap...that would probably just kill me haha). i didn't shower today because my skin hurt so bad i didn't want it to get worse [Edited on December 20, 2009 at 11:05 PM. Olive oil might supremely help your predicament.

I thought this thread was going to be about this
12/20/2009 11:08:02 PM
dont shower, change your soap. What kind do you use?
12/20/2009 11:08:22 PM
^^ lol!i would like to dive into money too!! AND if it was cool it'd also probably feel good on my skin ^ i usually buy whatever is on sale. right now i have:(it clearly isn't working. what should i get? dove body wash maybe? or that olay ribbons stuff?!)[Edited on December 20, 2009 at 11:09 PM. yea well having stuff touch my skin that close really makes them super duper itchy. maybe it is the laundry detergent that my dad has at this house or something. i mean i usually get dry skin in the winter pretty bad but lotion applied regularly typically helpsnow my legs are like so itchy and my elbows are cracking even WITH lotion.
12/20/2009 11:12:36 PM
oh and this is kind of gross but my dog has been really itchy lately (yea the one from the pound)she DOESNT have fleas. she is on frontline and i've looked for fleas on her - no flea crap or fleas to be seeni'm scared she has scabies or something and now i have them
12/20/2009 11:20:35 PM
^you can buy this spray-on conditioner for the dog......i use it on mine
12/20/2009 11:21:40 PM
dat ass
12/20/2009 11:22:22 PM
if she has scabies, you'll know it...there won't be a question of "do i have it?!" you'll just know...b/c you'll be itchy and have bites all over you.[Edited on December 20, 2009 at 11:23 PM. Reason : i know by experience btw...pound puppy gave me the scabe...]
12/20/2009 11:23:12 PM
^^^ i think i need to purchase that. can you get it at petsmart?(plus if she had fleas my cats would have them and they don't sooo it isn't fleas)^ haha. that is true. i guess we both just have dry skin [Edited on December 20, 2009 at 11:23 PM. Reason : .]
12/20/2009 11:23:27 PM
Few things....I dont know how often you wash your skin but try doing it every other day to limit irritation, take cooler showers, and ditch the lopha or whatever your using for a non-abrasive rag. Allow your skin to air dry. PUT ON YOUR MOISTURIZER RIGHT AFTER THE SHOWER, make sure it is fragrance free and hypoallergenic like Keri (my fav) or Luberderm. And try to do the shower, lotion thing at night
12/20/2009 11:23:49 PM
yeah, i got mine at petsmart...they MIGHT have it at food lion too...it's in a blue bottle with a spray on top. It's just for dry skin
12/20/2009 11:24:49 PM
^^ thanks!!! whole foods - good idea. i've heard of the kiss my face stuff. i don't care how expensive it is - for this problem i am willing to pay money to not be miserable. once i start scratching i can't stop!and i have been using a loofa. doh. i thought if i exfoliated enough my skin would stop being dry. i guess i was making it worse![Edited on December 20, 2009 at 11:26 PM. 12/20/2009 11:26:24 PM
yeah, those are supposed to be used not more then twice a week. Update me and let me know if I owe you lunch
12/20/2009 11:29:24 PM
thanks!!!!! as much as i love free food, i hope that YOU are right on this!
12/20/2009 11:30:00 PM
what lotion are you using?
12/20/2009 11:31:04 PM
well i have 3 hahai have st ives that i stopped using cause it wasn't getting the job donei have udder cream which kinda helps and then this aveeno stuff i just got ton and just put on for the first time. it is fragrance free and it says it is for itchy extra dry skin. i know baths are bad for dry skin but would an oatmeal bath be? the aveeno got me thinking about an oatmeal bath.
12/20/2009 11:33:47 PM
if your dirty, then wash it. But soaking in a tub of water isn't going to do your skin any moisture favors, oatmeal or not. Perhaps try chaning your lotion again. Have you tried putting on baby oil in the shower, like after you wash your skin. Try that and then lotion when you get out and go to sleep. It will be smooth but not sticky when you wake up
