People have been known to bleed to death from having a finger cut off.

No wait, that's a head.

it is the left index finger, but i sense your sarcasm
yet i continue to bleed profusely

so i guess if your finger got cut off you have no worries of bleeding to death?
i doubt that

a good rule of thumb: if the blood isn't squirting out, you'll probably be all right

Well I suppose if you sat there poking the gaping wound with a grill fork, yeah you could bleed to death. However, you could wrap a paper towel around it, have sandwich, fuck the girlfriend and buy a few PS3 games on the way to the hospital and make it just fine.

just go to the urgent care or the doctor and get them to durabond it

if you have health insurance it should be covered (or mostly covered)

you might wanna also get a tetanus shot if you can't remember your last one

i don't know but there is also this stuff that they glue your skin back together with

when i cut my finger they did that instead of stitches

they also made me get a tetanus shot which kind of hurt worse than cutting my finger to begin with

i still can't feel the top side of my left index finger though. oh well!

even if it stops bleeding i'd still go

IF it is as bad as you proclaim

when i cut mine i could bend back the whole top of my finger it kinda looked like my finger had a mouth

(mine didn't stop bleeding)

i cut it down to the bone with a serrated knife. i'm telling you i could peel back the top of it like my finger had a mouth.

it bled for like 3 hours until they closed it up (i had to wait like 2 in the urgent care waiting room)!

in all seriousness, use superglue.

faster setting the better.

gonna hurt a touch, but it's as effective as the dermabond

^^agreed. This stuff works like a champ. Just try not to get any of it IN the wound, just on top of it.

let me google this for you:

http://radiographics.rsna.org/content/22/3/583/F1.large.jpg

http://emedicine.medscape.com/article/1285060-overview

in short, EVERYTHING in the body has an arterial supply AND venous drainage. how else would anything survive/grow? if it's pulsating, you nicked an artery and it will probably not stop on its own (i.e. get to the ER). some oozing might be OK with pressure and band-aids, but if you keep soaking through bandages you better get to the ER for some stitches. last thing you want is either a) an infection or b) to lose some function in your hand. don't be a cheapskate when it comes to your health.

then tough it out in the freezer
