man... that is so fucked up they should just give her the 200,000
12/23/2009 12:40:18 AM
There is no way those people just throw all that shit away. If so, I want a job working there so I can keep all the good shit and sell it on CL and or eBay.
12/23/2009 12:47:39 AM
I think for being assholes about the mix-up they should award her more than she is seeking. They fucking threw away her whole life. There's shit there that you'll never get back, ever.
12/23/2009 12:50:10 AM
^yea really... 200K seems low for a screwup of this magnitude. If she was paid up in full they owe her at least 200K.However... something about this is telling me this is not the case.
12/23/2009 12:53:54 AM
The realty companys lawyer tried to bring in photos of the condo saying it was pretty much empty, the news channel compared them and found the floorplan of the photos he brought was the reverse of her unit..............................................FAIL.

This is a case where you should definitely get more than just the value or the belongings. She is gonna have to take the time to buy all the new stuff not to mention the time and distress of having to deal with all this. I think 200k is probably low balling it if it were me at least. I mean thats how much I would expect and I really dont have shit haha

200k is pretty low. Sure her stuff was probably worth less. But what about pictures, mementos, hand me downs, etc. Oh, that quilt your now deceased grandmother made for you? We tossed it in the dump. Your wedding dress is there as well... etc. Hell, where is the DA in this? They should be arrested for breaking and entering, and burglary.

did you guys actually read the article? her place was practically abandoned to begin with.besides, her last name is hernandez. she's probably illegal and her furniture is plastic lawn chairsshit, why did they put hernandez in the url?[Edited on December 23, 2009 at 12:50 PM. Reason : oops lol]
12/23/2009 12:47:17 PM
^ they're saying that the pictures of the place being abandoned don't match the layout of the actual apartment.ie. the pictures they're producing saying that the place was empty are possibly fake
12/23/2009 12:49:29 PM
My previous statement is based on her getting her stuff back.If all her stuff and momentos collected throughout her life was literally trashed and thrown away and unrecoverable then I can imagine more money being given.

i thought the pictures of her "fully furnished" place were the ones showing that it was abandoned. all i see is some shit sparsely piled on the floor.

12/23/2009 3:40:39 PM
Do they show that on TCM yet?
12/23/2009 3:41:19 PM
I'd be more concerned with the photographs, old school crafts, trinkets, child's special item (blankie/teddy), and other things of sentimental value than the overall item cost of all the possessions.
12/23/2009 4:13:08 PM
Look at this photograph, every time I do it makes me laugh.
