Do you have a long ass intro...like "Good morning, thank you for calling BB&T, my name is Tom Jones, senior loan specialist, how can I help you today?" They are so chirpy when they say it also...Some of my coworkers have the longest intros (sit in cubicals so it is easy to hear).

90% of the calls I get at work are solicitors anyway, and the rest are coworkers on my level, so I'm getting less and less formal.
12/23/2009 11:45:38 PM
I want my $50, I wasnt greeted with a hello.
12/23/2009 11:45:57 PM
"Hello"You dial my number to get me; you should already know who I am.Actually, I probably give some pretty formal greeting out of reflex and don't consciously think about it.[Edited on December 24, 2009 at 12:02 AM. Reason : .]

all three lines, just to play it safe (one is basically a personal incoming, because it's for us to use for outgoing to we don't tie up the publicized number and its secondary): "[name]; this is Christine. How can I help you?"It takes forever for the Caller ID to load For volunteering, it's fucking long as shit. [###] of North Carolina, [### Branch Name]. This is [name]. How can I help you?". They're quite anal about it.And I've just gotten to where I answer my cell with "This is Christine" whenever it's not a number I know.

when i worked retail in college it was always something fru fru like "we're having a great day at build a bear workshop in crabtree! this is megan. how may i help you?" i always had fun making up some lame shit
receptionist screens that shit and asks me if I want to talk to them, I usually send them to voice mail unless its a really good client
12/24/2009 1:35:15 AM
when i was a receptionist i would hate it when someone would call back because whoever they were trying to reach was not available or would push them through to voicemail. i would just keep sending them to the same person's voicemail until they started screaming at me. then i'd send them to my boss's voicemail.
12/24/2009 1:39:34 AM
unless its some networking or discussion type conversation I hate people that call, email that shit: written record, time stamp, easy to forward to others, easy to file etc. If I talk to a client on the phone I still sometimes send them an email immediately afterwards to get them to agree to my notes in "writing"
