At least temporarily, starting January 1st.

This would mean no:

- NFL Week 17
- NFC playoffs
- BCS bowl games
- Simpsons
- House
- Fringe
- American Idol

etc, etc.

I can't imagine this happening, but that is the current threat. Also lost would be MyTv, FX, FSN South, Fox Soccer Channel and Speed.

Hmm, locally in Raleigh I guess FOX is owned by CBC so I think they'd stay on here. But all those other channels would be lost. At least from what I can see. But other Time Warner areas where the FOX station isn't locally owned would lose the network as well.

We're actually lucky.

Los Angeles would lose the following if this happened:

FOX 11 (local FOX affiliate)
MyTV 13
FSN West
FSN Prime Ticket
FX
Speed
Fuel TV (?)
FSC
SPEED

Locally owned FOX affiliate ftw. Looks like all NC stations are locally owned. NYC and LA are SOL though if they have TWC.

twc is always about to lose a lot of channels

ex: Time Warner Cable’s agreements with programmers and broadcasters to carry their services and stations routinely expire from time to time. We are usually able to obtain renewals or extensions of such agreements, but in order to comply with applicable regulations, we must inform you when an agreement is about to expire. The following agreements are due to expire soon, and we may be required to cease carriage of one or more of these services/stations in the near future.

Raleigh:

WNVN-TV, WHFL-TV, WGHP-TV, WLFL-TV, WRDC-TV, Great American Country, E!, Encore(East), Encore(West), Encore Action, Encore Love, Encore Mystery, Encore Drama, Encore Westerns, Encore Wam!, Food Network, Fox Reality, Fox Soccer, Fox Sports Espanol, Fuel, FX, Lifetime, Speed, Starz!, Style, truTV, TV Azteca.

I fucking hate TWC. I wish we could organize a nationwide boycott. That is one company I would love to see come crashing the fuck down.

This doesn't sound like a massive loss. Plus, a boycott would be awesome.

good on time warner. I'd rather loose every fox channel and steal their shit online then have my cable bill go up.

its like when the nfl channel wanted twc to include nfl channel in all packages, not just a separate sports thing. fuck that bullshit. I wish time warner would man the fuck up and start parting out all the different provider channels so you could pick the ones you want and not have gay shit like $12 of your bill going to disney

I heard about this a few months ago. Up here in NY, they've been airing 'roll over or get tough' commercials on TWC

http://rolloverorgettough.com/

I honestly don't think either side will let this happen. TWC would lose too many customers. Fox would lose too many viewers. Everyone would lose.... except for the customers... who would switch to direct TV the next day.

well, there are two sides to every coin, no?

TWC could EASILY eat that (minimal) charge and not pass the buck on the the customer...
it's not like TWC is operating with a minimal margin of profit or anything

you know what else they would have to explain to their shareholders?

why the stock went down after customers left, and how it could have been prevented...

this is merely a battle, not the war
the war is keeping cost down from the rest of the networks,
if TWC cant draw a line in the sand then they will lose customers in the end

we should be supporting them not being whiny brats who get mad cause we lost a few channels for sometime

One of the problems is if they give in to fox and pony up the cash the want then next time the renewal comes up for abc and cbs and nbc etc. they are going to expect the same sorta payout and all of a sudden our cable bills are gonna be 200 a month.

Timewarner is being ridiculous in wanting broadcast channels to pay to be picked up on cable.

FX would be the only one I care about (I enjoy alot of their shows and more times than not, if nothing else is on they will have a movie that I will like)- and as for local fox affiliates- just get an over the air HD tuner and you will still get it

this is all moot to me though as I have UVerse

i've been hesitant about switching to uverse because the package i have with twc is cheaper than the package i'd have to go with through AT&T... but if this happens, it's a no-brainer.
